  1. Nice going Justin!!! I was wanting to take advantage of this nice weather been having and do some fishing.

But with deer season being in I am forced to police the property, the havenots always wanting to try to slip in and get something for nothing. So untill deer seasons over I'll be stuck here on patrol.

  2. The rig I like is 40lb. Big Game Mono with a 2oz.-3oz. No Roll Sinker and a bluegill on a 5/0-7/0 Kahles hook. Set your bait clicker let him run with a bait a few feet then CROSS HIS EYES!!!!

As long as the water temps are aboue 60 you'll catch them perty easy. Fish snags like falled trees or brush piles as close as you dare to, outside bends in the rivers usually produce. The leading edge of deep holes can work.

Flatheadings a waiting game. Bait up throw it out there and wait. Don't expect to catch big numbers of fish but expect them to be BIG!!!! They fight as hard or harder than anything I know of. Shear bull power!!!

Look here for loads of Flatheading info/techniques http://www.katmasters.com/forum/index.php

    Good luck!

  3. Rob is that the same place you caught last year? Again nice haulin' man! :D :D

Nope different creek this year. We were on Walnut Creek this year and 12 Mile last year.

Theres Racoon, Crooked, Elk, Godfrey, Trout Run, Walnut, Cascade, 4 Mile, 6 Mile, 7 Mile, 8 Mile, 12 Mile, 16 Mile and 20 Mile Creeks.

The pics with boo coo trout are at Trout Run which is a "nursery waters" no fishing allowed except in the lake 50ft. away from the entrance of Trout Run.

All the other pics are at the marina area at Walnut Creek.

  4. Took my annual trip to Erie Pa. to try my luck at catching some Steelheads.

My buddy Dan had called and said lets go the Steelheads are running perty good up in Erie. We get there to find there were indeed a few fish to be had.

    Heres an encouraging sight

Got it in and removing hook so I can put it on the stringer, these Steelheads are fine table fare!

Here I am with a limit of 3

    steel022.jpg

All in all it was a nice couple days to fish. We never kept any count but figured between the 2 of us we caught somewhere between 40-50. Most ranged about 6-7lb. with a few 8-9lbers. caught.

We kept a total of 4 and got them smoked at "Poor Richards Bait Shop" the rest were released unharmed. Your allowed a limit of 3 per day. :D

  5. WOW!!!! WAY TO GO!

That pic reminds me of a story my 83yr. old dad tells. He worked at a Coal Tipple on the river for years. He's not a hunter or a fisherman so he perty well tells it like it is without size enhancement.

But anyway he told me that years ago he saw carp bigger than a small child swimming under a tressle.

Now the pic of your son and carp together give me a mental picture of my dads story!

    Thanks for sharing! :D

  6. Thanks for the Invite!

No guarentees but I usually make it to Marietta once a year ever since my wifes friend moved there.

I was just driving around cause I was bored with sitting around listening to the wimmin talk.

But if I get backdown that way again next summer I'll give ya a holler.

  7. Nice Pics Ol Captain!!!

I just noticed on you Avatar your from Lithia Springs. That rang a bell! Then I realized I was just there one week ago today while visiting friends in Marietta. I saw a sign when I was driving around bored that said Lithia Springs.

Doggone it if I had realized it then instead of now I'd have tried to hooked up with you fellers for some Carpin on The Hooch.

Oh well I bet I remember next time I'm in Marietta.
