Great pics and videos. Thanks for sharing. Wish it was warm enough up here to get in the water like that. Did that Grassie come from the river also? Capt.

I live on a small lake or large pond of about 7 acres and my deck is about 8 foot higher and overlooks the lake. Saturday morning I was getting ready to feed the fish (I have a bunch of channel cat and carp) and noticed a bunch of swirls like something feeding on the surface and noticed they were carp but they weren't just drifting up and sucking like they do the food. I couldn't tell what they were feeding on so I delayed feeding them and got in my kayak and paddled out and there were thousands of tiny spiders on the surface. They were a lot smaller than the typical water spiders I usually see. I couldn't hardly see a body, but legs and all was a quarter inch or so. Don't know if they were babys or what but they were everywhere. I think there was a lot of different kinds of fish eating them but the larger carp were more noticeable. I also wanted to thank KSFlatsLander for getting me into flyfishing for carp about 3 years ago. I don't get out as much as I want to, but I did get out this weekend and caught 4 nice ones on my 9 foot 8 weight temple Fork fly rod and it is a blast. Capt.

I agree with Brid they are not bait specific if you don't have problems with turtles there aren't very many in your swim. What I do is catch them and either keep them or put them away from the pond. they almost always go down hill so make sure they are headed down hill away from the water. A dead bluegill floating will keep them busy sometimes. Good luck I have fought them for years in a certain pond. Capt.

Thanks the H20 was one I was looking at, the other one was Garmin e-trex legend. I know those mirage drives are fast I saw one on a lake I was fishing and he was really going.Kirk

Dave Thanks I like it.I really like yours also. I looked at the outback because I live on a small lake and the "hands free" would be really handy and when I was talking to my wife and showing her she said the granddaughters would love the tandem when they got a little older but I needed one I could transport so I got the native and I'm going to buy the hobie tandem this spring just to use on the lake. Hobie makes 2 tandems I haven't picked out the one I want yet. I'll try and get some pictures of the anchor trolley, my fish finder, and scotty rod holder. How do you like the mirage drive? Also I was going to get a handheld GPS and velcro it to the yak so I can take it hiking when not fishing. Is yours hand held? Thanks Kirk

I have a 17 foot canoe and an 11 foot sit on top Native Manta Ray kayak. I fly fish for carp out of the yak all the time. The only times I get out and fish is on streams or rivers with current. I can stand up and look while in the kayak or canoe, but those guys in those videos must have a lot better balance than I do because I wouldn't attempt casting or landing a decent size carp standing up in either one. I have a link to pictures in the boat section titled catching carp out of my kayak. Kirk

GREAT COACHING!! If you coach baseball as well as you do fishing the Cubs need you. Great Story and getting someone off to a great start has to be very satisfying. Capt.
