  1. I found this series of videos on youtube.

In this particular part it is interesting how they release a carp and that carp immediately starts feeding by the shore :o

Look toward the end of the video.

I saw JAck and Cola on the table.

European style fishing for carp. Dont take this wrong. To catch a good size carp sometimes you have to spend couple of days or weeks.

So what to do during this time? ;):knifefork::toot:

    Fun.

  2. There has been much discussion as to how to even the playing field at tournaments, like the Winter Carp League, that use the same venue and pegs throughout. I am proposing a new point system that has not been discussed.

The current problem is that certain pegs are more productive than the others, and this is true at any venue. The current system gives an unfair advantage to an angler that is lucky enough to draw the better pegs repeatedly.

The way this new system would work is that an angler would still draw for a peg, but instead of fishing against other anglers that day, who may have drawn better pegs, he would be fishing against anglers in other groups that have drawn the same peg.

Let's say we are still working on the current 5 point system. Five different anglers on five different weekends have fished peg 1; the angler who catches the most fish/weight would get 5 points, the angler catching the next highest number of fish/weight would get 4 points and so on.

Let's say an angler gets the same peg twice or more times. He would still be fishing against the peg on the same point system. So he could only get 5 points once. If he caught the two highest fish/weight for that peg he would get 5 points for the highest and 4 points for the second highest.

The idea here is that no matter what peg you get, the playing field is now better balanced. :)

Sounds good to me too, but...

-every sunday is diferent (water temp, air temp, air preassure, etc...)

-there is some days when everybody catching fish everywhere no mater what, some day not!?

    Maybe average weight will help???

  3. WOW...what a great day for fishing. Incredible weather to kick off the Winter League. Big Fish was quite a battle today. I had an early 16-8 that was looking real good until Tracy hauled in a larger 18-2. About 30 minutes from the end, a lady stopped to chat and asked how you could tell when a fish bit. I pointed to the pod to show her the alarms and had a run. It was a large fish that hook pulled half way to shore. I re-baited and threw back in the same spot. Ten minutes later I landed the 18-12 to take big fish. The carp gods were smiling on me today!

It was great to see some of the other contestants visiting us today. I know they have their fingers crossed for the same kind of weather, when their turn comes. Looks like Ernie will be doing more filming for the following groups. Be sure to smile for the camera. WCB products produced again today. I can't wait to fish the next round. This winter is going to be fun. I can't imagine storing all the gear and waiting for spring.

Congratulation To Andy (total weight) and Larry H (big fish).

    Goos luck next time.

  4. What about if one angler will couhgt 3 fish 8lb each, and another one fish 24lb.

total weight first 24lb and second 24lb.

what we do with this situation???

Are thay both will got 4 points.

If not -second will have 4 points and first 3 points because his average weight per fish is higher 24lb?

    check this situation closer.

first angler cought 3 fish. means??? maybe his got better spot?

or he is better than second?

    or his bait is better?

I think he deserved more ponits because he was better, he cought more fish. Thay just smaller then second guy fish.

    what do you think guys?

  5. Water levels and fishing reports have been great. And it looks like fair to cool on the temps should help with the misquitos.

    A couple of notes:

    1) a canoe race will be going by early Saturday.......planed by another town north of there. Just found out. Pack some backleads and be nice.....Thanks in advance.

    2) It gets pretty Dark there as there are no street lights so have your lights.

    3) Have your scales there early so we can check them out, since we are doing a neighboring team sign off be respectful of the other teams space, equipment and etc.

    4) I'll be running around friday, but I'll be based out of Page Park at the Lions pavillion. Noon seems to be when alot of the people will be showing up.

    5) Have an extra pint or two of blood, or shower in peppermint before coming, there will be misquitos!!

A couple of reports from two differnt groups pre-fishing A week and a half ago two anglers caught like crazy with a number of fish over 30", they did not have a scale. They also hooked into something that they fought for 20 minutes before it snapped their ROD!!! and line. Another was from this weekend, anumber of commons with Koi tails were caught......very beautiful fish......

    See you soon!

    Hi Larry

I wish to be with you guys.

    Have a good time.

    Marcin
