  1. I was just thinking about this. In PA we have I believe two free fishing days per year where you don't need a license to fish. I am sure other states are like this and I am sure they have those days at different times as well.On those days you get a lot of guys that don't fish regular and wouldn't this be one of the best days to attract more people to the sport since there would be a lot of non regular fisherman out for the day? SO while having a fish in a lot of people that don't usually fish would have a chance at a big hard fighting carp and maybe they would be more interested in fising regularly after enjoying a fish in.

Now my other idea also goes along with this as well for us carp anglers. Most of us would love to travel to a few states during the year but don't feel like paying for licenses in tons of states so maybe if a fish in was scheduled on those free days in each state it would allow non resident carp anglers the ability to travel to a new state to fish for free and pretty much be guaranteed some carp action since it was a fish in and the area would be prebaited. Just some ideas for everyone to think about for the new year coming up.

  2. Another thing you may want to try is this. If you don't have a marker float and are chumming heavy. Keep in mind the depths are deeper so you probably won't see a roll from the fish. Keep an eye out for bubbles. You can literally watch a school move in by the bubbles. I have watched the bubbles move up and down the bank and settle on my offerings. Another little tip I found out that I discovered by accident is this. If you use a method mix try something in it that floats. What happens is you get carp feeding heavy on the bottom and a few come to the top for the floating baits. Its a good sign when the fish move into the area and will let you know what pattern they may be on as far as what time of day they are more likely to travel into your spot.

  3. Yes I do. Hows the depth change? I fish a spot that goes from 10-40ft and it keep dropping to 91 feet. I try to fish right where the drop starts around 30ft deep. You may want to look for some sort of structure such as a fast drop or a point that they will hang out on.
