    Friday afternoon fix

    Well, I started to get that funny feeling this afternoon. My foot began to tap, my fingers started to drum, my mind started to wander to sparkling waters and singing reels. I snuck out of work a couple hours early, raced home, changed into my play clothes, then hopped into the carpmobile. A quick stop to pick up some bread and I motored on to my grasser lake. The water was still, the air was hot and the bugs were buzzin'. Time to get to it!

    The last time I fished this lake I was into a mess of nice teen channel cats during the first half of my session. No sign of the kitties today, but plenty of turtles to pass the time. Here is one with a brilliant color on his underside. (If anyone could identify it, I would appreciate it)

    I tried to get another picture, this time of the top side, but the turtle would have none of it.

    Aside from the turtles, bites were few and far between. But I did manage to pull another grassie out early in the session. While it's not as big as the last one I pulled out of here, I suppose it will have to do. :rolleyes:

    It weighed in at 26lbs 4oz, and measured 39 inches long by 23 inches in girth.

    Not bad for a hot Friday afternoon in southeast AL.

    (Oh, if you plan on making an offer for the hat, be prepared to bring cash money. No offers of food stamps or I.O.U.s will be entertained.)

    I will give you a dollar- two-ninety-eight for the hat.
