  2. Hello all my name is Gary Calton and I live in Middletown,Ohio.I found CAG in 2006 by accident actually.zI was online looking for the holy grail of carp bait.Well what I found was much better.Anyway I first started carp fishing probly 22 years ago at the local paylakes with the doughball technique.I really only went totally euro about 3 years ago.But the few thing I have learned along the way is this;fish often, share with a friend, share info along the way, have confidence in your bait and location, and most of all have fun.The fish will come.

  3. Well first off,I am not laid off,I haven't renewed my dues due to personal things in my life.I don't have any ill feelings about renewing my dues.As far as the discount thing people feel that taken away without warning. Also the locking of forums again taken away without warning. What's next? Most members want something physical for money spent for renewing of dues that's all.Is the mag being sold a news stands? Is there any revenue from that? What about giving each state chair a small reinversement for fliers, and banners, business cards,or something for their outta pocket expenses they and others contribute for their fish ins and cag events?why can't the club support more to sports expos?I have gotten more support from tackle vendors than I have from cag itself.I also understand that some vendors help out the bigger events than the state events, they would go broke if they did that on all of the state events. The support I was leaning on for the fish ins from the leaders,I was refering to the support from the group itself, like fliers, stickers,or anything from the group other than just a membership application.I wasn't talking about that they attend each and every fish-in in thbeir home state, hey people have lives.I don't attend every event in my state due to my work.Like I said earlier people just want other things, not every member wants the same thing.Personally I think the mag is a good tool for exposing carp fishing, and cag.I will give the group my support, and go along with everything it has to offer. But I think maybe the club should have a open poll on somethings to members and nonmembers just to see what kind of percussions some decisions may have before they are hastily made...

  4. Yes, i need to pay my dues and i plan to take care of this but i have to say one thing. There are people who frequent this site and just read posts.they never say a word. They support fish-ins and contribute while they are there.I was actually turned on to CAG by a non member myself.I think segregating the groups of people who may or may not be members by locking up the forum sections to paying members is gonna drive away people who show up to fish ins and events in their states who are not members. What about the groups of people who may be laid off work and dont have the extra monies for the dues, but are a great addition to the crew of people from a state? These people are really gonna take offense for the contributions they have made, weather it was bringing in a member, or a new person to a fish-in that became a member,or worked a cag event or anything.i personally think some toes are gonna get stepped on,and some feelings are gonna get hurt just to keep a few antagonizing people from posting or reading a few posts. If you think your membership is gonna be more value added by locking out good people then i say i will go along with the group.I myself think people would get more value from the membership dues by reinstating the tackle discounts that was eliminated, more state support on fish-ins from the leaders, a better membership packet,or something physical to be sent to anyone who renews there dues other than a canceled check or a credit card slip. These are the types of things i hear on the bank from members and non members both.Look people want value added for their money, they can go online and read the magazine for free. These are ideas that i have heard from members and non mebers.
