today i joined my friend jesse at a lake here in dallas, and it started off real slow, i told him that i bet with all the bait going in that this afternoon will be awesome, well he said hr didnt think so. at 5pm i get a slow steady run, i pick the rod up and this fish screams off, stripping drag like a nitro funney car doing a burn out. i thought i was gonna have to pour water on the spool to keep it cool lol after a 10 minute battle and nearly getting spooled i landed this beautiful 16lb koi. a new pb koi for me.

here is a few pics from my first ever atc, yes that is a weel chair behind me i had just gotton out of the hospital in december, my and mark (team red demon)
finished 3rd the last day thanks to my last second fish, too bad we didnt go to the cermony, we had to get back to camp, this year if im able to attend we shall have a hotel room and be there for the partys....

thanks everyone, it was a blast, yes brid it was jason johanason who caught the 70lb 8oz beast there,
my 50 was caught on the tres flores nanshe maize, with method, along wiht the mirror.

i went to austin to fish for a few days and while i was there the last night before i had to leave i had a run lifted into a heavy fish
at the time i didnt know how big untill i netted it, then i realised no one was around me to help so i lifted the fish and placed it on
the mat and then i put the scales on it and it went straight to 50lbs 8 oz i yelled out YEEEEEESSSSSSSS. and alos i got a new pb mirror
and yes it is a recaputure, hehehe this time it was 24.12, 3 pounds heaver than 2 months ago.

im at emma long here in austin tx fishing with a good buddy, we have been here for 2 days and got 2 days left.
so far he has had a great trip by not blanking, last night he get a run, i scramble out of my bivvy and grab the net.
at first i thought it was a regular carp, but after getting it in the net i relized it was a linier mirror, the same fish he caught
2 years ago here, and keith melrose caught a few weeks back here....awesome.... cpr at its finest.

there is a website that talks about guided trips there, they also say that "our" car gear we use here in the us will not work there, they say you need a rod with at least a 5lb test curve, and that a fight may last a hour or longer.
