Town Lake is a very special place

when they are rooting around on the bottom actively feeding is about the only time you'll catch them. Occasionally they will sit in slack water and wait for a meal to come to them and can be caught that way, mostly around tailraces or dams.

it is all personal preference anyways, there is no correct answer. Myself I like swingers since they offer more wind resistance and like the heads that have an inner clip as well as the ball clips.

Wow. What an amazing fish. What did you take it on?
oats method with maize hookbait

I have a feeling there will be more than 15 teams next year, Easter or not

Butterfly koi caught at the 08 ATC

It was Kc(Metal Mulisha) and my first ATC and it turned out better than expected. We didn't catch a lot of fish but KC broke his PB Common 3 times and broke his Buff PB 2 times and I got a new PB Koi. We were hoping for 30's but were very happy with what we got. We ended up in 9th place with 133# of fish and KC got the Big Buff award with a smashing 45#12. We met a bunch of cool people wanted to give props to Chad for his work and props to Dave Moore for saving 2 family members from drowing.
Here is Kc's first buff of the ATC @ 24#4
And his new pb 21# common soon to be broken
the newest pb common of KC's 25#8
Here is the big buff winning fish @ 45#12
Here is my new PB koi which is actually a Butterfly Koi @ 15#5
and some misc pics from the homeless swim
It was nice meeting all of you guys that were there and can't wait for next year's ATC

ROD PM me all the tips you want my team's odd are 29-1 so we could use a pick me up
-
I picked up some big grippers today just in case

What matters the most is how much water they got upstream of Lake Travis. Travis is about an inch shy of being @ Conservation with 33ft to flood pool so we need to watch the level there. Hopefully all the local runoff if gone by the time we get down there and they do not release any water from Travis. I guess

I went fishing sunday with some friends at a local pond known for it's ghost carp and managed to break my measly previous pb of 23#5 from Town Lake with a new pb of 24#2. I foresee me breaking that pb a bunch this year (hopefully) with many trips to Town Lake in my future. I also caught a nice 15#8 Ghost Carp and the guys I was fishing with both caught a double ghosty. I caught the common with Big Bob's tackle Universal A mix ground bait and a custom bct boilie
