Good day out.
-
Very nice as usual and gorgeous pics.
-
Round this way they use ghost shrimp a lot for them, hooklinks are very long, but this is in current and i think regulatory.
My friend caught one as a noob while out with a boat load of sturgeon guys on a hair rigged fishy flavoured pop up stacked with anchovys.

Gold mine right there, well done.

Got mine last nite, no probs, thankyou.

Allways good to get out with friends, can sometimes be more enjoyable than being on your own when the fish are having it

Some very nice fish.

When using birdseed mixes be aware that sunflower seeds float, so unless you grind/crush these they will just go to the surface and drift off, so best to buy mixes with as small a perecent of these as possible. There was a list on a MI forum that had a great list of ingredients for method/pack and it also gave which were binders or breakers.

Such major discounts are hard to pass on. I just hope such major sale isn't an indication about the future of the business...
Agree with that, it would be a sad loss.
I used PP and it went ok.

I fully support the protection of trophy carp. I think a wise way to approach it, and I will not be popular for saying this, is to encourage a limit on size of fish taken.
In TN the catfish is very popular. Big catfish draw guides and a strong following. There is a limit of only 1 catfish over 34inches taken a day by any method. If we had a similar regulation on carp, bowfishing would occur, but impact would be limited if enforced.
Trying to open up with an outright ban will likely be met with more resistance than a compromise of a protected length. I just think that in TN if a fish the status of catfish gets that concession that would be a good starting point for carp as well.
We will likely get further proposing limits and not a ban. I still think something holding back the carp movement for some is the trash fish label. They get the label because they are not considered edible by the majority. If that were to ever change where 6lb fish were considered table fare, I think the sport would take its next step.
Wise words in this, limits on upper size, oz's /points knocked off per oz over limit as the argument will be they cant judge and more prizes for the highest number of small ones, would improve things all round IMO.

I have had a few on this with fake maize over method when other pick ups over same method failed.

75ft of cable for the underwater camera, and still never hit the bottom!
Freeline balanced baits they'll take so long to get to the bottom you could get a pick up on the way down LOL
Gorgeous looking spot, by sounds of it loads of predators = not so many carp, keep at it suffer the blanks could be well worth the effort.

Strange! but very nice all the same
