One thing that causes line twist is too many takes while using baitrunners,
AVOID LINE TWIST- DO NOT USE HOOKBAITS!!!!!!!!!
-
Good day out, cant remember the last time they fed ALLday for me, could use a numbers day right now
-
Thanks for sharing, some nice pics and good fish
-
Very nicely done all round

BCT = Big Carp Tackle, vendor...would be my guess.
That's the one
-
Gardener spin doctor, look under leads on BCT
-
Good luck.

Looks good, depends on how hard ,break down time etc for hookbaits, also depends how much catfish like em too,
I'd try them all the same.
-
Its great when you get birthday fish, congrats.

Quite often in the heat here the fish tend to feed at dusk onwards and if theres enough to keep em there mid morning, noticed this in shallower places which goes along with Kens thoughts.

And when they wipe out the carp . Who or what is next?
With anyluck they will convert all the politically biased experts into a usefull product
I'm totally confident that the experts have it all right and the algy blooms will dissapear with the confounded carp

Realizing that with no pre-baiting, our chances for success won't be great, but we'll still head out between rainy days and try to catch a few.
I second John on this one, you guys dont know how good you got it LOL
Try finding places out of the current on flooded fields and use tiger nuts/worms, especially if there is a drainage ditch running across the area which gives a bit of depth and a path for them to follow.

I won't post a link to the story for obvious reasons, but was anyone aware fish of such size even existed in Idaho?
There was a very large mirror, supposed to be over 60 caught and released at American Falls Res, posted by Scot O on here a while back, Chris and i met a b/hntr who said he had got one over 50 before at Blackfoot.

Blanking in style is how i would put it

A friends son Zack who is allready an angler wanted to try carp fishing so after he got all geared out i took him for a day and overnighter.
We went to a spot on the Delta on a campground but the water was way low must have averaged 2ft deep right across the river, gin clear too, and there were no carp in sight !
So with prospects here looking bleak we went to a more usual spot, the rest of the day was quite action wise until the sun started going down, at this point i picked up a couple of doubles and it looked like we were in for some action. Just as dark set in two guys set up 15 ft to the left of us!!!!! they hammered in the pole holders then put the tilley lamp on @#$$$%#, carp dissapeared no suprise there!
Around 1am i got another one then Zack who was great about being out at night for a 12 yr old got his first run, but the hooknot came adrift, he was just excited to get a run! anyway 2 more similar occurences occured but he was not put off.Dawn came and went i had gotten 2 more by this time and was really hoping for Zack to get another chance.
Just when it looked like he was out of luck he got a screamer and after a spirited fight from the fish, in the net it went.
Excited was not the word he was on the phone to Dad before we got the hook out lol After some pics he said just getting a run and hearing the buzzer go was enough so the fish was way more than he expected.
Zacks fish, all 15.14 of it came to the old faithfull t/nut with rubber corn and mine were on WCB grits boilies.

I have found where one bead may slide too easily, two may not.
If they do, I mount one sideways using a boilie spike rather than mounting it through the existing hole.
Ive found they will especially when they come off the double thick part where the splice is and on dropback takes the beads usually go a ways up, the tiny solar ones stops the larger one sliding which is needed as the link will go over the small bead, anyway i like the idea of going thru the side sounds way too easy, thanks
