  1. This is just my opinion, spods will load quicker than spomb, draw back for some is that spod will tend to leave a 'trail' of bait out to your main area, advantage in my book. But when fishing some area's and you dont want a trail spomb is great, its also easier to reel in, solid spods are like parachutes to reel in the ones full of holes are better.

It works good when 2 of you work together one loading and one casting, you can get a good rythm going and is quicker when your trying to get a lot out, although 1 or 2 spods every now and then works very well.

  2. We shouldn't fall out with eachother over this, but its clear and simple no one should be leaving garbage and should be taking at least a percentage of what is allready there away too.

This previous weekend i drove about 55 miles to a spot on the delta that ive not fished since my prize test post in SW last year only to find the road gated off, to say i was upset would be an understatement! That is a 3-4 mile stretch of water gone to public access.

The deal on the delta seems to be that some banks are open which are on county maintained roads, the county dont want the responsibility of the upkeep of these levy roads, so they pass it over to the land owners and hey presto up goes the gates.

Dont get me wrong i sympathise with the land owners as there are some people that cannot conduct themselves peacefully while fishing and they plain dont give a dam about lighting fires and leaving trash.

As Tony pointed out, the binocular brigade, hippys and other anti anything they dont like organisations, will sieze any oppertunity they can to get you off the bank, they can do their thing from a distance!

They are gradually chiseling away and if people continue to litter there will be no bank access anywhere in the end, try to set an example and encourage others to do the same.

  3. Paylakes are confined areas, so when ketchup rice is chucked from all sides the carp cannot escape it and probably soon become accustomed. In the wild, the fish have a choice and can feed somewhere else to avoid the vinegar. Leave the tomato in and the vinegar out to make the rice work.

I kmow this is slightly off topic but ive found on a few occasions that when method mix that has cream corn and/or cooked birdseed with the juice as wetter in it, when the bucket got too much sun on it within a day or so it would start to smell vinegary. Action to this bait tails off to nothing and only improves when you mix fresh batch.

  4. Nice result on a place that big, we used to use muliplier reels and surfcasters back home too, for sea fishing! never thought it would become a carp set up lol
