  2. Al I know is from the start when I questioned about a newsletter All I heard was we need to find a printer, get it going on and on. In this day and age when everything is farmed out Why not use what we have ready been using? I believe if we used an pre existing printer etc. We might get a good deal giving them more work And it might be on a quarterly need. I guess I sound always augmentative but this was proposed last year and were still looking for a new printer.

This my last words on the matter, I'm done.........................................................

  3. Skeet ( John) is trying to get prices and all the particulars to get the newsletter going but I have question???

Considering that CAG has put out a NACA e- version and printed. And addressed and gotten to all the members

Why does Skeet have to try and find his own sources to get the newsletter off the ground??? What's wrong with using the same printer and protocol

that we use to get the NACA out?? Brooksy just stated that there will be a printed NACA again like last year.

So my question is this. Why can't all the info that's used to create the printed NACA be given to Skeet??? Would have sure saved a lot of time and energy on Skeets behalf.

Unless it's some secret???? Maybe I'm missing something??? It just eludes me, the NACA is printed and edited, but a newsletter is different ??? Either way, don't they all go to a printer when a NACA or a newsletter is finally edited?????? Why do we have Skeet breaking his chops looking for something new when we have already been using someone for the NACA???????

  4. Dave we go back and forth May I clarify. As I expressed previously. I know nothing of the doing and getting this type of thing together. I have been just a very sincere advocate that something different has to be done to keep our membership. Someone does get the NACA on line and someone puts it all together. CAG had this type of newsletter years ago. My constant argument is why not try something that seem to be liked in the past, that's it. I never said or had any thoughts on how to publish a newsletter. I wish I could off something than just a thought or idea. I'm a good chairman ( could be better) I did a good job for awhile as director of chairman until I saw there was more than just getting the chairman list enlarged, so I resigned. I'm good at momentum my computer skills hinders my enthusiasm. So Dave if your looking for me to say "hey I got a good idea but nothing to contribute" But I just thought that there are BOD members, sort of doing the things needed to get out a newsletter, already. But if your confuses as to my involvement I guess mine might be just the words. But I guess at times someone has to be the one to say" Hey it's dark in here can someone turn on the lights??)................................

  5. Not trying to be defensive , but in a way I guess I am. I have tried to get this newsletter going since Andy was pres. And always I hear the e-version option. Anyone I speak to agrees they like getting something they could hold on to. We need to offer something in return for membership A newsletter has worth something to reference to, something that says you belong. Honestly I am just trying to promote it. As for any involvement in the getting it all together I have nothing to offer I have no experience or knowledge in getting together and getting it. Others as usual will have to stand up. If there is something I can contribute I'm in. So in that sense maybe I should back off a bit and let it go were it goes. I have been a member since 1996. NY chairman since 2000. I host 2 fish-ins every year since sometimes a third. I love CAG I have made many friends and have experienced many memories which will say with me for a life time. I just feel CAG needs to step back and look at new options if not try some old. The newsletter to be is a step in the right direction Ed NY Chairman CAG

  6. Opting for or not for getting the newsletter is what started it all in the first place. Getting the newsletter to all CAG members alleviates more discussions and surveys. Getting a newsletter to all CAG members supplies each CAG member something to show potential members. I can't count how many old newsletters I gave to anglers interested in our club maybe the reason I don't have many old copies left of the old days. I believe the forums and computer has disenchanted our membership To a point we constantly lose membership. Especially those who are still paid member's but rarely fishes or the time or interest to see what's going on the forum A newsletter would keep them abreast of the new goings on within the club. I believe Abe Lincoln said " You can please most of the people most of the time but not all people all of the time" Lets get a printed newsletter to all CAG member's...............................

  7. Dave I don't know all that you know about the inner CAG past I admit.. And I certainly don't want to argue. All I know is what I hear And many miss the printed NACA no matter what the printing was Our membership and retention is poor.. Maybe who am I to make suggestions. I was just a Teamster the guy who would most likely deliver the cases of newsletters !!!! What the hell do I know.....................................

  8. We went with the e-version, what we got was declining members. And when I solicit new CAG members, what do I tell them I'm going to offer them for being a member?? Tackle certificates??? Not all go on the computer daily A newsletter to "ALL the Members" each 1/4 or how many times a year we decide on guarantees all the members have reference to go back to. Business supporters alone would benefit when there goods and specials are advertised on a regular basis. Not looking to create another controversy But how CAG has promoted itself seems to not be working Back in our infant days we only had the newsletter And our membership was over a 1000 I know times have changed and CAG sponsored many carp forums, clubs, bait outlet, etc. which constituted a lot of our decline. But I feel going along or about the way we have is not working What have we got to lose Members??? Were in that mode already.

  9. Why wasn't "Carls name ever mentioned prior to Skeet (John) stepping up to find a suitable printer. I have been speaking of a newsletter for years and always the problems was the cost and finding a printer. Of course we should use someone who has always supported and worked in our favor Maybe someone should get in touch with John who at the time has stepped up to help in the search for the printer of the very popular newsletter ??? I just feel that finally progress with getting this done is underway And as always controversy seems to pop up to hinder its progress???????? If Carl is the guy. Then someone should call (BOD) and call find out the particulars and "Get it Done" !!!!!!!!!!!!
