  1. I see back and forth the questions and answers. But after all the CCCs' I think considering many members come from afar that more than one motel would be suggested!!!!! Does anyone realize it's totally booked!!! I was going to make it I can't due to family obligations but I had a and my buddy is still trying to find a clean safe place to stay. really no one in the local area knows of decent motels out of the area that would be eaisily accesible to the CCC event. We kept trying and as I said a few days till the event and my buddy still gets know answers Were from NY not next door HELP HELP HELP!!!!!!!!!

  2. post-3241-0-43135000-1340070096_thumb.jppost-3241-0-05438800-1340070000_thumb.jpBeen baiting the past week with WCB Hi Protien Grit boilies by WCB. They have small pellets for pre-baiting and 14 mil. boilies for hook bait and baiting up. After a week I fished a very hard water and was rewarded with 2 fish going 25.6lbs and 29 8lbs. The boilie is yellowish white very high attractive. I believe WCB is going to have a huge winner again with this new bait
  3. I'll always remember him after the 1st. Jr. tournament I hosted a fish-in in Ogdensburg he was nice enough to come with the little tug and bait the area up for us And that Speedo he sported the whole day of the fish-in He was one of a king he'll be remembered and missed After he left the St. Larry the fishing never was the same He was in my opinion a true carp expert

  4. I must say that years ago so much was said and banta went back and forth. It started months' before. In the first years there was even a fish-in at the end. Economy issues haven't helped but what happened to all the gossip?? I beleieve Waddington took over the steering wheel and pushed CAG aside I beleive that was a huge mistake, other than an area event few others except the die-hard oldies know it's happening So other than Phil only I too will state THE JR EVENT AT WADDINGTON IS THIS WEEK!!!!!!!!!!! If you have a boy or girl of age it's a great event. Lots' of fun.

  5. Wish I could have made it.Seems as usual nice fish came out. Kissena is a quite amazing little water.Ever since I hosted the first fish-in it's never let CAG down I'm glad everyone had a good time and all the effoet Rob put in to bring it all together.I think he's doing a fine job being chairman for the lower region I'm looking at a swim up the Hudson so soon I might post something new for a Summer or Fall fish-in Again sorry I couldn't make it but I'm happy it went well The best to all and tight lines Ed Wagner

  6. Hi Rob a lot has happened to me over the winter. Nice to hear you heard from Alex I hope he's well. Might come with Miguel Let Alex know I have new e-mail ewagner001@catskill.net If you want give me a call cell 917 497 0562 but it's better to call my home phone 607 326 6296 we can talk Ed

  7. This month in the NACA I was surprised to see a snakehead article? Altough well written maybe I missed it but I didn't read if it was catch and release or just catch and kill them? If it is catch and release I'll be surprised it was allowed to be inserted in the NACA Snakeheads are very invasive fish If in the tital Potomic it could have a serious effect in years to come?? There's a body of water in NY the DEC has closed because they found snakeheads three years ago, they didn't want them to spread. Maybe I'm missing something, but it looke like the article was promoting snakehead fishing If so I hope it's catch and kill!!

  8. Looks like the fish are adapting to the weather Last year Fri. night was the tie breaker night I think tonights going to bring interesting results for tommorrow morning. Personnally I have to say "go peg 3" to my buddy Val Grimely and his partner Nigel.

  9. Thank you Alex for the kind words it was one of my favorites also. I do remember that stumble almost into the lake I took, I was bruised for a week but sometimes we have to pay for our fun. My memorable would be two. The first was the fiest fish I banked at Oakland lake after after fishing it numerous sessions and baiting it up all winter in the most herendous conditions sonetimes 3-4 in the morning after work, this goose getting tagled in my favorite thermometer and screaming of with my drag till I was spooled out. All I achieved was blank after blank I would have to say at least 15 or more sessions in 2 seasons. It was march 6th 2000 late afternoon 3:30pm to be axact when that rod went screaming off combination feeder bread crumbs and animal cracker and pineapple soda and a 3 in. link with a pop-up white choclate boillie by Nash. It came in at 16 lbs but I never was as excited with a fish. The second was in 2002 a day fishing with my buddy Mike Dragone up in Troy Ny the day was slow and Mike had a few fish for the day I believe I had maybe one to my credit. Mike had to leave around 3pm I decided to stay he agreed he said it might just pay off we had a lot of bait in the water. Well I started to get a bit of action. I and a relitively slow take and struck really seemed no big deal I took my time, but I did notice it was mirror with that I banked him quickly mirrors aren't so common on the Hudson river. After netting I lifted the net onto my un-hooking mat it felt quite heavy. Once I saw it my heart was pounding I am not a big fish catcher and this looked over 30 lbs Into the sling and I weighted it 30lbs 10 oz. I must admit i don't get to excited but I think I couldn't catch my breathe for 5 or 10 minutes, and I just sat there dazed and shocked I tried calling Mike and others but I could reach anyone till later also having only a throw away camera how was I to take a picture? and I was not going to release the fish without snapshot after waiting almost 2 hours and no one insight. I pulled in my rods and with the fish still sacked I took my car and luckily found a man walking his dog I explained my situation and fortunately he agreed to walk down and take a few shots That was some mirror no the largest my many recent standards but is still one of my my favorite memories. I have no pictures of either fish as they were years ago before I had a computer but I do have the SNAPSHOTS!!!!!!!!!

  10. I believe its a fine idea, but the same names as was previously mentioned most likely will win. A lot of CAG members aren't near, or in this day and time can afford the money to travel to waters that might contain the size fish needed to win. Some members seem to be fantastic anglers while others can never experience such captures as those lucky enought to have the time, funds, or waters within reach to bank fish the size needed to compete. I don't want to sound like "sour grapes" I believe a lot of CAG memebers won't even bother knowing they have a very little chance as the few who have regular or multible huge fish catchs, sometimes in just a day session, are hard to compete with. I'm not against yearly contests but I believe they should be a bit more of a equal chance for all

  11. I agree with Mike D. team Dragone/Wagner used Sunday to rest our tired muscles. As usal it was great competing and met alot of great anglers, and said hello to old buddies.. We had the lead for awhile but but the fishing Gods left us "wanting" As usual Mike D. was a great partner and helped the "old guy keep up" Have to say congrats to the winners, job well done.. Also a special note to my buddies Miguel and Val who gave it a great go being in the pack for lead the whole way right to till the end. Today I'll be trying to get all the sand out of my gear and using a lot of moisterizer to re-moisten my dried out skin I think all that sand-silt sucked all the moisture from my body!!!! Even my eyes seem to me scraping when I blink!!! But all and all I had a great time and well done to all that competed.

  12. Always wanted to go to the CCC but it was always a bit to far to travel. I'll be there. It looks like Val, Miguel and I will make the trip together It will be great to see some old friends again.
