  1. Here's some tib-pits:

    12 and 13 footers

    3.5 test curve

The 12fters have 6 guides, starting at the butt with a 50mm, 2-40mm, 2-20mm, and the tip is a 16mm

I was going to put a 18mm on the tip but my rod maker said the math didn't work out right.

    The 13fters have 7 guides, starting at the butt with a 50mm, 2-40mm, 2-20mm, 2-16mm.

All guides and the seat are hand made and the guides are double footed for strength.

There is a small carp engraved on the vary butt of the rod.

The color of the rod is like no other, you can see different colors of Dark Red,Dark Orange and green.

Only in the sunlight and also what angle you are looking at it, can you see these colors and the sparkling flakes . In low light the rod is a dark reddish brown. Really Sexy.

This is not a 3.5 broom stick, the butt end is vary slim with a great looking rubber butt handle.

  2. Gilbert Huxley Signature Series Carp Rods are built on more than 30 years of dedicated carp fishing experience. Manufactured by Trophy Technologies, the leader in Muskie and Bass Rod innovation. Gilbert Huxley Signature Series Carp Rods are made from the finest rodbuilding materials currently available. All rods are constructed from Japanese Toray graphite fiber. Toray fiber is a unidirectional nano-fiber that has an extremely high strength to weight ratio. That means we can build an ultra powerful rod which is still extremely light

Carbon prepreg is expensive stuff. A 50m roll can cost thousands of dollars, and we consume kilometers of it each month. The resin, a modified epoxy system, does not cure at room temperature, but needs heat to make it solidify. This means the prepreg will not cure at room temperature and can be refrigerated to keep for very long periods.

Carbon fibre alone, is a black floss like material, very vulnerable to abrasion and damage. It is only by combining it with a resin system that we get a composite that is useful as an engineering material. So when we talk loosely about carbon fibre fishing rods we normally mean carbon fibre and epoxy composite.

    Why do we do this?

To deliver the most powerful tournament grade carp rod available on the market today.

  3. Neil, you are one of the reasons why I'm coming back to the ATC. This is going to be the 6th ATC that I have attended and looking forward to meeting new carper friends and well as some of my old carper friends. I still use my "Bank Buddy" that was given to all the anglers at one of the ATCs in the past. Guess who made that possible. In other words Neil, "YOU DA MAN"

  4. Looking forward to coming down again to Town Lake sorry LadyBird Lake, now you know how long it been sence I've been to Texas. My partner is a rookie and a lady, yes guys CAPALICIOUS is my ATC Partner. Buuuuuut this rookie has more heart for carp fishing than I've have ever seen in a lady. The passion for carp fishing has dug down deep in her soul.

This lady and her husband Tony and Rick Slinker and myself spent 6 nights on the bank at Dale Hollow, and not one minute of complaining did I hear, at least from her.LOL I'm proud to call her my partner....Christine,, heres to you girl... B)

Then you have the only two time North American Champion Rick Slinker coming down also with Christines Hubby Tony.

That Team just speaks for itself.

Then you have Amas and his partner coming also. Amas won the big fish at this years CCC.

Then there is the four team, which I hope come for sure. Kevin Tharp, and Dale Anderson. Not comfirned as of yet.

For all the teams coming from all directions "LOOK TO THE NORTH FOR THE HEAVY HITTERS HOOSIER CARPERS COMING SOUTH"

  5. As the numbers of CAG members here in Indiana dimeished over the last couple of years, so did my heart. I have always said that CAG is the reason Hoosier Carpers was even thought of. Without CAG, I would still be fishing with a couple of buddies and going to the paylakes from time to time. CAG gave Hoosier Carpers structure and reason. Hoosier Carpers got so big that is was impossible to keep track of who was or was not a member of CAG. With that in mind I can only say that it won't happen again. We are now on the up swing of something new and exciting here in Indiana.

With our new leaders of Hoosier Carpers being CAGs State Chairmen we are now on the right path again.

With Jathan, Tony, and Kevin I know that there are going to be some new and exciting events thoughout the year. I can't wait.

I am so impressed with all the hard work that Jathan and his crew did this year at the Sport Show. Just think, 10 days straight 86 hours of standing on your feet, takling, laughing, eating and just having a blast. But at the same time hard at work getting new members and they did exactly that.

I know now how Bud Yancie felt when David Moore took over for CAG and did the things that he always wanted to do.

I watched Jathan from a far at the show and saw something that I thought I would never see, and that is the same passion that I have for carp fishing, Jathan has it ever worse.... I love it....

My goals are now on a different path also. I'm working on semiars, demos, writting articals, and may even some instructional DVDs. When I retire this Oct., you better believe most of my time will be spent on geting the word out,and fishing of course.

  7. Gilbert,

Hoosier Carpers is (maybe I should say "are") a shining example of the strides we'd all like to see for our carp as sportfish.

    Phone

(A side note: How's the painter that fell off the ladder? Tell him I often think of him and wish the best for him.)

Hey Bill, good to hear from ya, Yeah, Rick Slinker is doing fine. He's my partner is all the team comps. He's got a son that is one hell of a carper. How about you, are you doing well?

  8. Hello everyone,

Gilbert Huxley here from Hoosier Carpers. Do we have some great things going on here in Indiana this year.

Before I list the things that are happening here, I want to let you all know that if it wasn't for C.A.G. there wouldn't be a Hoosier Carpers Club. Good Luck to all the Staff members of Carp 'Anglers Group, I see a great future for C.A.G.

    1. Indiana Expo- Kevin Tharp is Hosting(2day) Hoosier Carper/C.A.G. booth. I will be doing 4 Seminars. This is a multi-species show and carp fishing has been included every year.(free)

    2. Renfro Boat,Sport,Travel Show. This is the 10 day show that helped build Hoosier Carpers. But this year Renfor has offered the booth for free{price $400.00}, for doing 8 Seminar at the Hawg Throth. We could use some NACAs to give to new C.A.G. members that we will sign-up.

    3. NOW THE REALLY EXCITING NEWS FOR HOOSIER CARPERS/CARP ANGLERS GROUP. This year Hoosier Carpers has Teamed up with Hoosier Angler Mag(paper like our old NACA but bigger). John Koonsman Edt. of Hoosier Angler has presented this mag. to over

25,000 folks walking the show. Him and his team handed out by hand over 20,000 last year. This mag is made only for this show(8th year) and alot of the booth exh. have bought ads space and are also handing this mag out at the show. In the past there have been many pictures of Hoosier Carpers holding PBs.

This year Hoosier Carpers will have a section of its own. Right at the fold of the mag. 3 pages to the right of the fold and 3 pages the left of the fold. It will contain many articles by some of Indiana's best carpers and Jr. Carpers. Rick Slinker Two Time North American Champion will write about his passion for carp fishing. With some his pictures. Dates and locations of our Hoosier Carpers/Westside Bait and Tackle Tournament Trial. Also a actical from out last years winner. Dates and locations of our Social Fish-in(4). Plus an nice spread of our supporters with ads.(Wacker,Scropion Tackle, U.S. Carp Pro Mag, and many others).

    4. Our annual Hoosier Carper Meeting and Chilli Dinner is Jan. 16th, and one of the things that we will be discussing is that we are now without a State Chair for C.A.G. Adam Jenkins just moved to Fla. So we will be asking someone to step up, we do have about 3 that are really interested. We will be sending his or her name for your approval.

  9. What a great idea, Hi I'm Gilbert Huxly (Indycarper) I've been fishing for carp for over 30 years and the one thing that really gives me joy is turning someone onto carp fishing for the first time. In the past years I've had a great time dong just that. Stan G. and myself got together many years back, just to fish with someone who loves carp fishing as much as I do. Almost 14 years later we have a great local club called Hoosier Carpers. Just to let you know the heart of Hoosier Carpers is CAG. Without CAG, Hoosier Carpers would not beeeeee.
