Nightwing..nice H5 shots. I have the Sony DSC- H1. I have the Sony 1.7x telephoto lens for it. (makes the camera a 20x zoom) Plus canon 500d and 250d close up lens. The 500d (2x mag.) is good for butterflies, grasshoppers etc. The 250d(4x mag.) is good for insects, small bugs etc. I like to use the 1.7 telephoto lens plus the 500d lens. It allows me to be able to stand back further away from the subject. Here is one I shot with this combo.
I had the H1 since August 2005 and taken over 10,000 shots. I probably won't use it quite as much now since I just bought a Nikon D50 last Friday.

He actually came on the euro setup again but was pulling line so slow the alarm did not go off. It was one click from the baitrunner about every 5 seconds. I had a PVA bag on with boilies and pellets in it so he must of just been swimming around eating the rest of the food.
Your doing pretty good with that euro set up. 3 fish this year so far? 1 on the american set up and 2 on the euro set up.
Keep on doing what you been and before long you will have a new PB. Your the only one that has caught any fish this year.
You keep on catching fish like that and I will buy my fishing license soon..

Nice fish!
Sounds like you caught it on your american set up..

We should get a bunch of guys to plan on a day on the lake, what say, Louis, Matt, Ed, Kryz, Eich, Moondog, et al.
Sounds good. I been wanting to fish that place for a few years now for carp but never did. Last time I fished there was about 13 years ago..

Nice fish! Congrats on the PB's.
I haven't been to that place in a long time. Never fished it for carp though. A friend of mine caught some nice catfish and pike from there..
How deep was the water in the area you was fishing? Much boat traffic?
Those fish do look like they came from Marburg..

I do like the other guys. Once I get all of my stuff set up I place the bankstick where I want to take the pics and take a couple practice shots. Once I get the shot I want I place my unhooking mat there. It usually takes a little while to get it set right but once you do the pics turn out about the same as if someone else was taking them.
Here is one that I took last year when I was fishing alone. After I cropped, resized the pic, it looked pretty good.

I use the 10 second timer on my camera along with a gold label tilt head camera adapter screwed into a bankstick. I like this camera adapter because you can tilt the camera up or down and it's small enough to fit in my Fox box.
You can get these from the tackle box or specialist tackle for about $20.- $25.00.

I had always wondered if that mat could double for a weigh sling. I might have to order one now.
The ACS has one that is similar to the fox classic unhooking mat for less $$$...

Just received a shipment from Mainline
Do you have any of the mainline pellets?

Nice fish Ed and everyone! Ed, you remember this guy?
Yeah I remember Andy. I fished with him a couple times. I met a few guys there. You, Milano Paul, Nigel....most recently Matt and Louis.
Did you hear from Andy since he moved to Florida?

Here's the rig that I use most of the time..
Size 6 hook,3oz gripper lead, korda lead clip/rig tubing with a size 8 korda swivel...tied with 15lb snakebite with the last inch or so peeled back.
-
hey ed... i recognize those fish... that first one is awesome. 28.5?
hey guys...the first one was only 25 and it was caught in 2002. It does look bigger than that..the guy that took it hardly ever catches fish but he does take good pictures.

caught a few weeks ago..

From a few years ago..

35 - 40lb range

I use 15lb snake bite and kamasan B775 or Korda hybrid wide gap hooks..both in size 6
The snake bite is a plastic coated hooklink material that allows you to peel back the coating to make different rigs. The line under the plastic coating is very flexible.

No...Fox have a 2.5mm plug and delkim have a 3.5mm plug.

I been using the fox RX's for over a year now. I like the dropback feature, when you get a dropback the led flashes. If you have illuminated swingers/hangers they will flash too. It's not a feature that is really needed but in certain situations it is nice...
-
Do they make a decent rod band these days?
The fox lead and rod bands are pretty good...been using them for 3 years or so now with no problems.
-
I been fishing for about 15 years but I only fished for carp in the spring/fall...fished for bass 95% of the time. About 5 years ago I got into euro style carp fishing and started fishing for carp 99% of the time.

Sweetcorn..Have you looked at the Nikon's at all? I compared the Nikons and Canons awhile back. The DSLR's under $800.00. I liked the way the Nikons were made and they felt more comfortable in my hand. The lower priced Canons have more of a plastic type body. Similar to the new Sony A100 DSLR that recently came out. I was going to buy one since all of my other video and photography stuff is Sony, until I held one in my hand...
I bought the Nikon D50 with a 28-80 lens. This past week I bought a 50mm f/1.8. I'm going to get some good glass and then get the Nikon D200...
Here's one I shot this past weekend of my 3 year old nephew.
Nikon D50 with 50mm f/1.8 lens..
