  1. My uncle has a 52" hanging on his wall that he caught 10-15 years ago from a reservior while fishing for bass. He was using a texas rigged worm when the beast hit, took him 20 mins to get it in due to the fact he did not have a leader on his line.

When you look into its mouth you see only death!!

  2. There's no sense in reporting this to the wardens.  If it is like the laws here in NY, it is legal to do this.  The bow boys do the same here:  Shoot as many as they can get close to and leave them there in the water or on the shore to rot away.

ken it is not legal here in ny to leave the carcass of any fish on the banks or in the water. they need to be properly disposed of BUT the dec has a tendancy to over look it unless someone makes a stink.

  3. park behind billy goats or settlers. or if you really want to get away from the people that mill around there you could park at the old water treatment plant on the opposite side of the creek and follow the fence around, a little more peaceful and you get to see some wildlife over there. i have had deer and fox hang out behind me while over there.

  4. actually go behind sugar creek right next door. it is alittle deeper and the fish seem to hang there more. there is a gravel hump right in the center of the creek that the fish key in on. if you put out a few hand fews of your chosen bait every so often they will hang around all day. also great pike fishing in that area.

  5. where abouts are they in batavia mom? i gurantee i have either fished them or scouted them out. could save you a trip or put you on to something better.

sorry neil... but i have caught so many mirrors thanks to "mirror creek" and a few other local waters that i love catching commons over mirrors now. yes neil it is sad to say but it is true.

  6. hey mom i cut my carping teeth on that creek and can give you some better spots where you can consider 15 10lb+ mirrors a day a bad day!! it is a great creek for getting kids into carping. i have never taken a common out of there and i have banked about 6000 fish from there.

    congrats

oxquo a summer 14lb is the largest fish i have ever seen out of there and that was taken in a deeper and more remote area. that spot in the pic becomes a bit smelly as summer comes on due to the water levels dropping and exposing the muck that has seen everything.

  7. frankie loosen your spool tension knob- the one that keeps your spool from backlashing on the cast. no matter how loose you sett your fighting drag it will not make a difference if your spool tension knob is too tight.
