  1. Thanks for all your help on this duck problem. I moved to a different spot on the lake that does not have as many ducks and chum when the duck are not around. The maze works great and I catch carp with the maze and not ducks. I want to thanks you guys for all the help. The next thing I am trying to do is make maze that does not smell so bad - my girlfriend hates the smell and I am going on a houseboat for a week - I posted for your help on how to make maze that does not smell so bad.

  2. I am going fishing next week on a house boat and want to know how to make the maze that does not smell so bad. I am going with my girlfriend and she will not let me touch her if I smell like the maze I have been making. I soak the maze for 24 hr then boil with 2 cups of sugar and after a few day it smell bad. I want to add something that will catch carp in Shasta lake in California and not smell so bad. What can I add to my maze and still get within 10 ft of my girlfriend. I am going to be fishing for a week and I am soaking the maze now - please help me - the bad smelling maze catches carp but I know I will hear about how bad I smell. I soak the maze for 24 hr in a 5 gal bucket then boil for 1 hr with 2 cups of sugar and it foams up and smell like Sh*t after a few day. Please help me I am soaking the maze now so I need your help before I boil the maze. I did learn how to do maze from CAG but know I need your help again. Thank you for all your help - you guys have helped me catch more carp.

    Thanks

  3. Thanks for all your help - I did boil the maze last night. The bucket does not come clean even with bleach. I did not read about the mold and the fish are fine - this is a small lake and all is well. I did not boil the one bucket of maze = mold but the other bucket I did boil the maze and it had no mold - you guys know your stuff.

  4. I have been making maze in a 5 gallon buckets. One bucket is still ok and did not turn black but the other bucket is black and the corn smells bad - the other bucket smells but not as bad. I just added sugar and maze to both buckets. I am going to use the maze this Saturday and want to know what the black stain is on the inside of the bucket. I also can not get the smell off my hands after 1 shower and 3 times washing my hands - yikes this stuff is nasty. The next time I make maze I am not going to add sugar.

    Thanks for your help

  5. I have a 10 acre lake by my house that is only 3 ft deep and only has one place to fish from shore. The 25 to 35 ducks are diving down and eating the maze. I add 2 cups of sugar to a 5 gallon bucket of maze and the duck love it . I was catching carp at this spot but now all the ducks are diving and I have been not caught one carp in 2 days. Can you add something to the maze that the ducks will not eat?

    Thanks

  6. do you do that on the rental skiffs?

No you have to go out 20 miles to get in the warm water. My fishing buddy has a boat. We grind up Mackrel and then freeze the chum in freezer bags and slowly chum the sharks in - we have caught up to 30 sharks in a day - top weight 150lbs for the blue sharks and we think the Maco shark was over 300lbs.

  7. Hey Justin - I love shark fishing - fast action and a good fight. We fish for Blue shark during Tuna season (Aug, Sept). We did have a 300lbs Mako hooked 3 yrs ago but with 50lbs test line and salmon reel it broke the line after 10 min. fight. Nice pics - that is a nice leopard shark. The rays are more fun to catch than the sharks - they fight well.
