Fished Alum today from 8am-1pm since my other spot I scouted through the week didn't thaw out enough. Managed 3 carp and 1 catfish which surprised the hell of me given the time of year and water temperature. All fish came on a Dynamite Tutti Frutti popup with a stick of liquidized bread.

Congrats Dave! I've always wanted to see one of these rods in person so I could see what my next pair of rods would look like before I bought them.

This interests me as well. I have a bakery thrift store that sells "bird bread" (expired bread) for 10 cents a loaf. I normally use plain white bread, but they give you a variety; white, wheat, whole grain, multi grain, etc. and I'm wondering if there would be any difference in what the carp may like. I guess trial and error is a good place to start.

I mean after the first full year of events. So to participate in 2014's Regional, it would be based off of 2013's attendance. Those people who have attended the most events would have first say in whether they wanted to attend the regional or not.
As for new members, maybe we could have spots reserved based on the maximum number of anglers. So if we have a 15 team max, maybe 2-4 of them could be reserved for new anglers. Put all the new members names in a hat and pick. Those who are chosen are added to the list.

Yea, I like that idea Scott. After this year we could do that. Maybe it could be based upon attendance in the previous years CAG events.

Yea, 3 rods is going to be weird. Might have to use my marker rod set up or at least the Emblem with quick drag.

I've been looking through some previous threads about the Saginaw and some really nice fish have come out of it. Hopefully for a Michigan 20 or 30!
Also, this will be my first fishing competition.

Scouting those Muskingum watershed lakes would be HUGE. If we can pinpoint some locations and get many anglers out there, look out for some BIG results.

Just fyi, I have family 5 minutes from toledo area with acres of land an who love to entertain. 5 minutes from the maumee. If we find a venue to fish that doesnt allow overnight stays we can throw up brollies there. you will never be treated better i promise

I think East Harbor to start things off and Rayland to end things is always a good place to start.
We have talked about fishing some of the Muskingum watershed lakes, but we really needed some scouting in those areas to know what those lakes have to offer.
I'd like to get back up to West Branch at some point because the fishing there can be WORK. We might want to also explore the idea of camping in the state park. I know they have some lake front sites there . Again, this comes back to scouting out the area.
Paint Creek has always been a talking point in Ohio. The state "record" comes from Paint Creek and might be another place to look at.
I'd really like to fish some different venues this year. I think we need people from all around the state to scout out areas that are unknown.

Very nice session and fish! What flavor Dynamite fluro's were you using? I was having success here in Ohio with Tutti Frutti. Will likely give Pineapple/Banana a shot if I get out tomorrow. Again, Well done!
