I don't think I've posted this before. One of four fish in my local lake at that point. Took me 39 nights to get it.

Here's another one from Moppel, this time going high 30s.

On behalf of my buddy Moppel from Germany, I have posted below a picture of his 44-3 from TL this spring. It was his first time ever in the US, and it is needless to say that he had a great first impression. Heck, with 32 over 20lbs, 9 over 30lbs and one forty in a couple of days on the lake, I'm sure he'll be back before too long...

Another Town Lake resident (in the swim they call "the boards", the downstairs swim a little west of the Holiday Inn):

Curious bunch ...

Last fall, enjoying some Pelzer boilies ...

When fishing in France, too much water is not the only obstacle. Oftentimes, the direct opposite brings trouble when there is too little water and you fish amidst the mire. Here's my setup on the Nemours Peninsula at du Der back in the 90s:

This was a funny capture at you-know-where. Buzzer went off early morning after a good night's sleep, only to have me wondering what happened to my reels... Water level had risen some 3ft over night, submerging my reels and flooding part of my camp. The carp took line from the spool that was well under water. The fish went 35.

What a mirror is about! The tail of a 32

Talk of mirrors: Gotta love fish like this. And no, this is not a North-American fish...
I think this one went 39.

At the infamous Montrose Harbor in Chicago. "Now you got them, now you don't..." - type of place.

A fish from last October.

That dark common looks terrific!!! What an awesome fish, man!
One other question: The quality on that picture is great, too. Do you take digital pictures or scan paper copies?

Pat - I've been fishing on Lake Michigan for about 12 months now and among some maybe 200 carp was only one mirror of around 15lbs.
The picture below is of another common carp, and same size as the mirror, but noteworthy because it was almost entirely black on its flanks.

Another true power carp:

Harbor indeed:

And another one, for the fun of it:

All of these fish are from Lake Michigan. I mainly fish the harbors around Chicago and further up north into Wisconsin. There's some real beauties among them, although I'm still surprised by the number of "beat-up" carp, too. Seems like these are rough waters, a lot of torn fins, missing scales etc. It's got to be all the rock, I suppose.

With this shape a true power carp!

This is the smallest of the 4. Clearly same strain as the fat one, although only a fraction of its weight...
