Richie B here. Can any of you paylakers give me an idea on how long a "Puff Pickup" can stay on a hook? I'm using a 1/0 wide gap hook, Arrowhead Mills puffs, with pack baits that break in 3-4 minutes. My aquarium tests show after 15-20 minutes, the puffs are in a soft condition. but still on the hook. While actually fishing, all of my hookups occur after only 5-10 minutes of being in the water.I fish wild waters, with various lake bottom conditions. Would re-baiting be after 20 minutes be reasonable? Thanking you in advance-------Richie B

Thanks for the information that I have received so far. I'm hoping Mr Big will reply once again on the length and power on the Bionics or the Extremes. Tight lines to all-------Richie B

Buckeye Bob: Thanks for your reply. Do you know what length and power they use? Looks like the 7 1/5 foot with the MH power would be good. But,what do I know--------ask the fisherman who uses them. Thanks----Richie B

Carpers/Paylakers: Richie B here.Have been an Euro style carper for over 15 years. I looking to give the paylaker style of fishing a go.I have an Abu Garcia 1600 series baitcasting reel (w/clicker),and have bought a paylaker rod holder from a N.C. vendor.I now need a recommendation on a baitcasting rod to complete the package.Would prefer to keep the cost of the rod to around $100.00.
Thanking you all in advance----------Tight lines-------Richie B

Dan: Richie B. here. I have the same situation here at a small lake in the south suburbs of Chicago.
Lake is the about the same size, but only 6' deep at best. Have ben fishing there for four years, and the biggest so fat is 7 lbs. Each year, the captures get bigger. I'm always enjoy the smaller fish, and always looking for that "Big One" I fish that venue with light tackle, and I enjoy the fight, small or large. Don't give up on the venue. Richie B

Zebco 808's have a bait clicker lever that lets the reel free spool just like a bait runner, paylakers around here use them and they are readily available at every Walmart.
This sounds so far as the way to go for my friend. I thank everyone who posted their ideas. All others posts will be appreciated.Tight lines----Richie B Tinley Park,IL

Have a friend who would like to use a spin caster for carp fishing. Can't get the hang of using a open face or bait caster. Any recommendations on which reel to purchase? Richie B

Has Wacker baits closed it's doors or just it's store front?
