  1. Woah, hats off to you... that's what I call dedication! Nothing beats catching your first carp on a homemade boilie.

Having done the same thing myself, I do at times wonder if boilies really outperform boiled field corn with various additives....

Nonetheless, it's always a blast to make a batch... until you start experimenting with smelly concoctions like liquefied worms and fresh water mussels... wife didn't appreciate it all that much, but I see you are boiling outside... good call! :)

  2. Greetings fellow carpers,

Just a quick intro, I am from Eastern Ontario and have only but recently started to actively fish for carp. I mostly fish on the South Nation River and the St-Lawrence. Looks like this place is full of great information and knowledgeable people.. keep it up!

    Cheers

  3. Hey there Zippy,

Newbie to this forum as well. I have fished for carp in the St-Lawrence and on the South Nation River. I have scouted for a few places on the Rideau this summer and I am anxious for next spring. Perhaps we could go out for a few sessions on the Rideau, I have been told that Dow's lake is pretty good. I have seen quite a few carp near Mooney's Bay this summer as well.

    Cheers

  4. Hi,

Does anyone know where they sell carp fishing supplies in Ottawa? Specifically looking for Boilies, and corn.

    Hi there Zippy,

I can confirm that the SAIL store in Ottawa does not have any boilies, despite my repeated requests. If you are ever on the Long Sault area, you can get boilies at Carpin’s in Ingleside and I was told that the Canadian Carp Club will open the shop sometime in 2013.

    Cheers
