  1. omg......just went on the cemex forum who own the lake that 'heather' swims in. twelve pages of " you were the best carp"...."hope you rest in peace old girl" and talk of all chipping in for a headstone!

awesome fish and a shame but all things come to an end and somehow, i don't think the fish can hear them. i just don't get all this r.i.p ing of fish like they are talking to it. i get tombstones for carp even less. now that is bloody sad.

  2. hi there.

if i were you, i would try float fishing bread flake. overcast them and draw the float back into position. you could put a small piece of foam on the hook as well to make the bread sink slower and literally waft the bread in front of them. let us know how you get on as it would be lovely to see you catch a few of them.

    cheers

    andrew

  3. globetrotters carp quest?

more like freeloaders bumming trip whilst walking round with your knob hanging out.

edited to add that there is no way you could hold a 44kg fish at arms length. cheap publicity shot?

  4. Already had a quick pop at your fishies there, and would love to come back. I am out to Romania in a couple days, but stopping over in Amsterdam, not London this time.

Next time in UK, I would love to share some bank with him. Ask Andrew if he and I would get along...LOL

you would geez i'm sure although he wouldn't like his chain pulled as much as you pull mine sometimes! i certainly got on with him over a few ciders and the promise of a swap trip to each others rivers and lakes...not that he'd remember that day much! have a blinder in europe and remember to put your 'socks' on in the dam! not long been back from there myself and i wasn't right for about three days!

  5. class from a top top angler. just wish he would learn some internet savvy and stop getting himself banned. it's a shame that so often it isn't his fishing doing the talking but people having a pop and him back. my advice to him would be to leave the keyboard alone big jim and get on with what he undoubtedly does pretty much better than anyone else.

  6. with regards to te weird swirling.....if have seen this numerous times especially at this time of year allbeit in england. carp are carp though and i think they are cleaning themselves of leeches and stuff after laying up for a while. i have seen them doing it against sticks and snags as well so am sure it's just for a rub after inactivity. i call it flashing the bottom!

  7. :) Sorry, but Bride just made me really laugh! :D Someone sounds like a bloody whinging bride at the moment!

completely irrelevant but you need to update your urinal signiture to......one piss pot cup obtained by cheating 2010 whilst missing out on the real prizes!

with regards to this topic.....dont even entertain it.

  8. so jacob and i went fishing today... he landed a nice 13.6 common but we did not get a pic of... so after an hour or so with nada, i decided to move my pod a little bit... well why i was moving it the middle rod just stormed off like nobody's business...

of course jacob was there with a great net job and shared with me my very first mirror ever, it weighed in at 19.4 pounds of pure excellence... days like these are what memories are made of... i have been trying for years to catch a mirror...

    enjoy the pics...

that's a nice fish. congratulations go out to you and hopefully that's the first of many!

  9. colin. lovely job and congrats. hope you get a few more and maybe one or two even bigger!

just want to ask if they stocked mirrors in there. the tail looks like it might of been damaged in a net years ago .i'm sure a lot of the dutch fin cutting rumours were down to this years ago. also, i had just the one occasion when my braid did something like that but i was using a peice of leadcore too short.
