  1. Why does Adam wear those blue gloves ?, Is he a proctologist ? ;) ;) , Nice job, Ed

I'm sorry to say that I'm not a proctologist, but I do hope you seek help for whatever problem you're having :P.

Wish you guys luck in Feb, I'm out of here and not back in the midwest until mid-March. Looking forward to seeing some nice pictures on the board.Frank, John and both Andy's already have nice fish on the board.

I'll post a few pics from FL, most likely with blue gloves on. While I didn't start the trend, I've noticed that we have several proctologists on the board.

  2. Count me in, although not sure when I'll start. Depends on the wife and if she has her way I'll be there after midnight. How long does it take to catch a carp in the dark again? Oh right, the carp don't care. Good luck guys.

  3. Greetings, Anglers. Thank you all for your efforts in creating such a great resource.

    The who:

My name is Adam C, but I'm better known as Scumfrog.

    The why:

I started carp fishing because I have not found a freshwater fish that fights like a carp. Maybe salmonids, but carp are closer to home and easier to come by. Honestly, I think carp fight harder.

    The What:

In freshwater I'm historically a bass angler, in salt I fish for reds and trout. I'm fortunate to have a job, first of all. And second of all a job that allows me to spend about a month in FL every winter where all of my free time is spent fly fishing the flats. I don't go until mid Feb and aside from that month I fish my home waters year round. I really hate the cold but in spite of that I love fishing in January, it's normally one of my best months (WWD).

    The where:

I live near the North Shore Channel in Chicago, somewhere around Touhy. I have fished the channel for a number of years, mostly for bass and crappie. In the past year or two I became interested in catching carp after seeing those huge things swimming around.

    The how:

I'm an experienced angler, but a beginner when it comes to carp. I use a saltwater combo (stoutest I had) with a slip sinker and corn on the hook. I've had a good deal of success with this rig. Biggest to date was 14lbs and it took about 10 minutes to get her in. Today I ran into Slimy and his buddies down by the river. Very cool group of guys. I learned some things from them, but more importantly they had beer. Anyway, I'm looking forward to learning more, and hopefully contributing to the site in a meaningful way.

    Cheers,

    Scumfrog
