Awful stuff there Tristan.
That's a pretty good and detailed inventory of the makes and models of all the fishing gear. Should be really helpful when you have to provide the insurance company with a list for replacement.

Crazy jumping off the boat to go in after 'em. A great show! How about the length of the corn kernels threaded onto the hair rig! Never rigged up like that before.
-
Hey, thanks for the heads-up on that. I'll set the DVR now so I don't miss it.
It hard to find shows about carping so when someone produces one, I always try to catch it.
-
It would figure the Italians would even have carp pods designed like Ferraris

Wow, that's a great looking booth Guys! Thanks for that report and pics for those of us who didn't make it down.
-
Hah hah hah! I totally get the euphoria! Go get em, Hawkwise!

Have a great time, Mark and Lorne.
I hope you meet lots of nice people, young and old, who are interested in learning more about carp fishing.
-
Slow down, Lorne. Leave some for the rest of the year! lol
Nice way to spend a cold winter day!
-
Nice Lorne! She looks like a biggun.
It's great to be able to fish carp 12 months of the year without a need to put the gear away til spring, eh? We've got one over on the golfers. lol
Are you fishing a method feeder this time of year?

Thanks for that update, Tangled. It sounds like the pond is a terrific urban fishing getaway, particularly as a place to get kids involved with fishing.
I think when these types of areas are taken away from anglers, we can lose fishing opportunities for middle and lower income families who don't have boats and cottages to go to.
Urban angling areas are just as important to maintain as any pristine northern lake or river, IMHO,

WTG Tangled. A win in my books. Sounds like the odds were against you( us ).
Can you elaborate on the poaching problem in Grenadier Pond? Sorry, I'm not familiar with the pond, but curious about the poaching issue which could have closed the waters to fishing.

Wow, she's beeeeeeautiful. Way to go Mike. How satifsying is it catching one of those in Feburary, eh? It's nice when you batte the elements in winter and are rewarded with a fish like that.
-
Okay Tom. Mike one paylake lesson the next time we meet.
Ok, but I'll warn ya now, I'm a sloooow learner. lol
-
Hey, nice job Mark, screw tail and all! Not an easy time to get 'em so you're doing something right.
-
Nice pictures. What are you going to name that guy. Fred is taken.
Given the day I had, I should name him 'Skunk.'

Well, it's been about a month since I've had a chance to wet a line so I was gald to get out this morning, finally, to see if could coax a few finny friends to come out and play.
It was a pleasent day to be out, with the temps around zero to plus one, however the fish were not in a cooperative mood. My bite alarm alerted me to a quick run and drop, but that was it on this morning,
It was a good thing I had this fellow to keep me company.
My new friend actually stayed wth me most of the morning, and made thing a bit mopre fun on what was a very quiet session.

Ya, I've caught a few of these shows and quite enjoy them. 'Sesson' in particular I like for its informal 'low key' approach which is in stark contrast to the over-hyped presentation of North American fishing shows.
I like seeing the English countryside settings and scenery. Really beautiful.
One thing I notice is how the guy is always fishing property of a 'Mate' he knows. I don't see many people fishing other than the host, which emphasizes how little public water they have and how exppessive it must be to be a fisherman there.
We're really lucky to have so much bank space and water avaiable to us. I wonder how much longer it will last, though. Anyone who has tried to find somewhere to park and access Lake Simcoe in the wintertime will know what I'm talking about.

The Manitoba efforts will be as unsuccessful( and misguided )as the efforts of the RBG to rid our Harbour area of carp.
And that's good cuz I love fishing for 'em.

Cool video. One of the first national TV shows I've seen that the whole show was about carp. There needs to be more TV shows about carp fishing.
True enough, Dunkel. There aren't a lot. "The Fishin' Canada Show" we have up here with Angelo Viola and Pete Bowman have a couple shows they've dedicated to carp, and they were quite good.
There is also another show I've seen on the World Fishing Network that unfortunately felt the need to use a Benny Hill soundtrack in the background. Ya, funny.
So, as common as carp are, the tv shows about them aren't.

That was a great bit of fun to watch.
I enjoy watching pretty much all fishing shows but too often they're filmed at an exotic location or on an expensive charter, etc. So I found it really enjoyable to watch a show shot right here fishing the way WE like to fish.
And congratz to all the hardcore carpers who were rewarded with a little camera time. It would be pretty cool to have your session filmed and played for all the world to see.

Ya, you guys laugh but if that guy hooks into a fish that starts swimming backwards, he's all set!
A big thank you!

That's great to hear. I can imagine how much all that gear meant to you guys so it's great to have it, and the car, back.
I had my place broken into a couple of times and the process of doing an inventory of missing stuff( a lot of it was my fishing gear )for the insurance company is a major pain.
Sounds like things worked out for you guys, for the most part, and that's good news.
