  1. Thanks for posting that report Lorne. It was a good read and some nice pics too. That's a darn nice day of fishing with some buds and even a little drama thrown in with your reel!

  2. Wow, nice Jeff! Chunky hybrid there. You look like one happy fellow! Of course, I was there yesterday blanking with the others. Dohhh!

Just got back from LaSalle. Fished in the mist and drizzle this afternoon and ended up with blankety blank. Nice day for birdwatching though...

  3. Nice job Tristan and Nick. Thanks for the pics, and your video was terrific. Good thing Nick saw your rod go swimming when he did or you may have been out shopping for another Black Widow!

PS.. Good to meet you and your buddy this morning. I stuck around for a bit after you guys left. Only a few beeps on my bite indicator but no takers. Nice to meet BCLT and chat with you as well, Bud.

  4. They're everywhere, they're everywhere! Nice fish Jeff. And I take your point. One day they're biting here and the next they're feeding there and you gotta move and find 'em. WTG

  5. Nice fish there for Tristan! Congratulations.

Nice to meet you and your bud yesterday 2 Carp( Sorry, I didn't catch his name )and thank you for your tips.

  6. Patch looks nice on the camo cap Tony. Did you just hand sew that baby on there yourself and was it easy to do? Gonna give it a go myself, but I've only sewed buttons on my shirt before so I hope I can do as good a job as you did.

  7. I'm definately diggin' this new winter carpin' scene! I just got back into carp fishing and, after several years away from the sport, it's great to come back and find it's something I can do year round!

Thanks for the scouting report Grasshopper and to everyone who pushes the fishing envelop, blazing a trail for the rest of us.

  8. I still have a few vacation days reserved, so with the forecast calling for temps of 6 degrees and sunny today, I decided to book off.

Hit up a local swim and was set up and ready to roll at sun up.

Wind was really blowing from the west, but it was still a nice, pleasant day for Feburary. Good to run into Hairwig again and to meet Dopefish, who were fishing just down from me.

I really downsized things today with a 6lb leader, a tiny hook and a couple of kernels of sweet corn on a hair rig. Then just pitched out a small bit of corn on the catapult and waited. After the bite indicator beeped a few times to signal some line bumps, got one on about 6 or 7 lbs for a little morning fun.

Althought beautiful to see, these two kept us all a little anxtious about fouling( or fowling )our lines.

Not a ton of action today but still a real nice morning to be out there.

    Tight lines!

  9. You guys are killin' me!!! I get home from work and read this????? I have GOT to start booking more time off!

Well done, guys! You put in the time and it's nice to get the rewards. Thanks for posting the report and those great pics. Helps some of us live vicariously through you.

And Collin is an accident waiting to happen! lol

  10. Thanks for the post and those pics are awesome! I hope the CAG boyz from the Southern US get a look at that and see the dedication of carp fisherman in Canada.

I was out there the day before( Saturday )with my cousin as well. Endured the winds and wet snow. Other than a couple of line bumps to keep us hopeful, there were no fish banked by either of us as well.

Funny though, it didn't seem like a wasted day.

    Cheers!
