The crab imitation I would present to a fish feeding in shallow water after a carefull stalk and try to get it as close to the head as possible. Then keep it still and wait for the fish to find it or maybe give it a slight twitch. When I'm gonna tie new ones I want to use some zonker hair for additional movement.
