  2. The deeper you get into carp fishing the more you will love it and the more money you will spend :)

I got most of my tackle from www.wackerbaits.com. Unfortunately, there are no local stores that sell carp tackle in my area, as in most of USA.

    My setup is as follows:

    1x Fox Stalker rod pod

    2x Daiwa Mission X 3.0lb 12' rods

    2x Daiwa Regal Z BR4000 reels

2x Delkim Plus alarms w/ 2x NiteLite Pro and 2x DuoCarb hanger supports

It's not the pro pro equipment but even though, it's almost at $1000.

I am not sure how "important" carp fishing is to you, if you want to go Pro with it or not, but paylake style carp fishing is still fun and I used to do it all the time. That is also the cheapest way to catch carp.

You can buy cheaper rod pods and bite alarms, as a matter of fact, I will have a brand new setup here soon that I will sell for $100. Comes with hangers, rod pod and bite alarms.

    Good luck!

  3. Hey everybody!

My name is Deni and I'm 26 years old.

I am new to this forum and very interested in carp fishing. I am not a sport angler, I do it because i think it's fun and exciting, and helps me relax and rest from the hectic everyday live.

I moved to the US several years ago, and I got back into fishing. I was fishing alot in Sweden and Bosnia. Fish I was after over there was pike, chub, perch, trout, bream and most certainly carp.

When it comes to carp though, I never had luck. I realized catching carp isn't that easy which just made it even more interesting. They have the rep of being very hard to catch, spooked and intelligent for a fish.

I tried and tried, never hooked one. I instead caught a few breams, but they're boring and don't really fight for their life. I am not interested in bass fishing simply because it's too easy to catch it. Any little child can catch one.

Anyways, to make my whole story shorter, I've discovered several lakes in the Metro Atlanta area, one is very close to my residence, about 5 min drive, Stone Mountain Park and its lake. I went to the lake now several nights in a row, prebaiting and waiting for the carp to become active after spawning. No luck yet, but I am very motivated. Since I never caught one before, I am very excited to get one on the hook, a dream come true type thing. Sundays we're usually at Lake Sidney Lanier, I will try my luck there too of course. Here nobody really cares about carp, and tackle shops only sell bass and catfish stuff mostly. So I had to order some accesories from the Internet. Hope that will change soon.

    Thanks guys, wish me luck.
