  1. Zach, it's sad to hear you're no longer euro carping anymore. I know it's time consuming and a lot of effort but the payoff is second to none.

Just don't forget about the old days and the enjoyable times you've had doing proper sessions. I took a break for about 4 years with other interests, and just recently this year starting to get back into it.... the passion for it has returned stronger than ever, maybe Richard's passion is upon me. It's exhilarating to wake up to a screaming run at 3am even if it's below freezing, just think about it. At least you're still fishing, and that's better than not at all. I prefer the sticks to the urban environment any day of the year.

  2. Someone brought up on another thread that leadcore may not be a safe rig, true? How do you get the splice through the other hardware?

It's actually safest to use in the helicopter form, in case of a crack/break off, the hooklink 'should' be able to be pulled off the leadcore with ease (over the splice or knot), therefore leaving the fish left with only the short hooklink instead of the 3+ ft of leadcore. If using leadcore in the sense of a bolt rig, or running rig, where your hooklink is attached directly to the leadcore, this isn't very safe as the fish could be trailing the leadcore if a break off may occur, giving the fish a much greater chance of snagging up. I would only use it this way if I'm fishing a snag free swim where the chance of a break off from a fish would be very low, and even then, might be risky.
