How? Indiana seems to do just fine. You can use all you want in Kentucky.

There is a petition going to allow the use of three rods in Ohio.

I'm hoping to actually make this one. An unexpected $3k tuition bill put a halt on last year's carpin' ambitions

What hotel do you guys plan to stay at Friday & Saturday? Someone posted about the Double Tree that is on the water. I just checked and it's $107/night.
Any thoughts?

Sorry for the delay in getting a place locked down...my Mom, 78, fell and broke her hip last week and have been focused on giving her and dad a hand this last week. She is home now...physical therapy and healing.
Still shooting for 8 Mar and thinking of doing it from 2 - 6 pm to accomodate those that have a distance to drive. Any thoughts on this?
Works for me.

Which side of the river this year?

We had a get together at Barley's Smokehouse a few years back. They had an area off the main room that was pretty big and seem to remember the food being amazing. Just putting that out there. I'm good if it is in central ohio, I should be able to make it out.
I remember going there for Ak's going away thing. I almost suggested it but I don't think my stomach has recovered from the last time I ate there a couple weeks ago. Likely an isolated event, but wow! It was an awesome display of bodily functions

Considering booking at the Doubletree by Hilton at Bay City. With Wenonah Park and the Saginaw at the back door, it might offer the opportunity for a little carp fishing just outside the room.
Heck
Heck of an idea! I will not be getting much sleep.

Sounds good. I get off work at 12:30 m-f. So by the time I get home, load up and hit the road I probably won't be there until 6-7 Friday evening. That's assuming my wife and son are not tagging along. If they are, well....add another 5 hours

A few places that either have a reservable area or are large enough...
Tommy's Pizza on 161 in Dublin has a seperate area for groups(the best pizza around)
The Montgomery Inn on 161 has a pretty big bar area, can be crowded at times
Kingy's Pizza in Canal Winchester is a pretty big place
Any of the Rooster's locations(imo much better eats than BW3) tends to be crowded
Jed's in Hilliard(the old Damon's). This place is plenty large enough and has great food. Just down the road from Griggs. Of the places I listed this would probably be the best bet. It usually isn't too crowded, plenty of room to move around and something for everyone as far as food and drink.

No complaints here. I've never been to WB. Eagle Creek is pretty nice. Only been there once, but it did produce what I believe was my first 20+.
Sort of a funny story... I left my rods out at night and went to sleep. Zipped up the tent, took my glasses off and konked out. At some point in the middle of the night my left rod takes off. I was dead to the world at that point. After what seemed like hours trying to find my glasses, I put them on and took off out of the tent. Well, I tried to get out of the tent. You see, I tried to go out the side that did not have a door. At this point I have managed to wake the wife up. She wonders WTH I'm doing. Meanwhile the alarm is still screaming. I'm wondering how the entire camp was not awake. Phil was right next to us, I don't think he woke up.
The fun wasn't over!!!! I get out of the tent and make a sharp left towards the pod and trip over the tent cord that was staked to the ground. New and creative foul language was pouring out of my mouth. Alarm still taking off. I gathered myself, grabbed the rod and was hooked up.
Fighting the fish was the easiest part.
So, I get him to the bank. Grab the net. What happens next is baffling... The net arms just fell out of the block. You all know how much tension is on the arms of a carp net. How in the **** they simply fell out as I was trying to net this fish is beyond me. And of course they fell into the water. So here I am in the middle of the night trying to hold this rod under my arm with what was at the time my PB carp and trying to grab the net/arms out of the water and reassemble the net.
(^*&%*^)&^%*&^%$)*(&^!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY I had the fish in the net. I had to get a weight on this one. I get it in the sling, lift up and the scale says.....2lbs. 2oz. *** **** piece of **** ****ing rapala scale!!!!!!! So, I had resorted to the tape measure. 34" That week I ordered a Ruben Heaton scale.

Do you guys still do the thing at BW3 on Bethel in March?

Registered.
How does the peg draw work for this event? I see there are 4-5 zones. Does each state draw for a zone? Anyone talking strategy or is it just every man for himself and hope for the best?
How does this place compare to other rivers?
Given the relatively small amount of time to fish, I figure on sticking to 2-3 confidence baits/methods.

What about O'Shaughnessy? There are plenty of places all along the east bank to pull off. I've only tried way up by the 42 bridge. They were all small. The Deer Creek fish-in was fun a few years ago.

I would replace Alum in August with Griggs.
New PB 30+

Yeah, Ian is 46" tall. His shoulders are 12" across....the carp from belly to back was nearly 15"!!! We had a couple upper teens and a 22. I also lost two fish due to those cheapo hooks that were included in the new member kit. There was a rough spot on the hook eyes and it wore through my leader on two hogs, one was a mid-20 and the other was high 20 or low 30. We had them near the net and they both popped off.
