I've heard there are some big grass carp in there, but there's almost no mention of the carp fishing anywhere. Ask a local bait shop maybe?

Great job!

I'll send a few dozen carp flies to the heaviest fly-caught carp submitted.
The Rev. tickets are a cool donation Dean (as are all of your donations of course)! That's some added motivation to do well in this

Good post Bob

Franky,
Nice job, glad to see you caught some fish. I'm guessing you missed out on TTL?
Yeah, I never fished it because I heard it was closed to water activities at the time. Saw people fishing it anyways. I walked the bridges, saw a ton of very good sized tilapia and a couple of mirrors in the 15-20 lb range from the looks of it.

I use them all the time for trout. The ones that you can fill with water cast a mile on a light rod. No reason they wouldn't work for carp.

Nice vid where in arizona were you?
South Phoenix... Awhatukee is the name I think. This video was in a small pond in a neighborhood lake.

Good video! What were you baiting with?
Oats (but those were scattered quickly and clouded up the water), a little corn, a few boilies, and some breadballs. Pretty much whatever I could scrounge up; I didn't have much of my stuff with me.

Very cool mirrors! Are you still in Florida?
No, I left Arizona about a week ago
Back in Mass now

A week back I messed around with my GoPro (actually a knockoff GoPro), fixing it underwater and baiting in front of it, like Jerome's videos. Got some kind of cool footage from the half hour it was out - here's the best of it...
Bait and muck from the bottom made some parts kind of cloudy.

Got mine today! (MA)

It was mailed to all current members as of the date I sent the list to the mailing house. As long as your membership was not expired you should get a copy. If there was a slight gap (less than a month) in your membership I am sure we can send you out a copy. If you don't see it by early next week just email cagstaff@carpanglersgroup.com and we'll get one out to you.
Cool, thanks. My membership hasn't expired so I'm looking forward to it

Does this go to every member?

I would imagine they have to get used to the noise, if the noises/disturbances occur regularly. I've caught fish with boaters right on top of the swim, but those were in spots that regularly see a lot of traffic. I bet a motorboat over a spot in a normally calm lake, that rarely see boats, could put off the fish for a bit if one went over them.
Nice fish too!

Awesome Rob! Will definitely bookmark this one!

Very cool John!

Not sure about the "ghost" part, what defines that?
Cross between a mirror (or common) and a koi.
Seems like most of the fish in there look that way, and I don't think there are many, if any, koi in there.

Great fish Rogan!

Very cool Dave! Great pics

Sorry Franky, there will be no sight fishing. The way the lake is constructed, you wouldn't be able to reach the lowered water from the concrete shore, and if you climb down the concrete, the City considers that unsafe, so to enforce it, they charge you with trespassing.
Right, I forgot about the way it is constructed. Oh well, at least there are a lot of carp in that area. Hopefully some make it in TTL though.

Good to hear! Actually, really low water could make for some very fun sight fishing for those big mirrors...
-
I'd imagine they will stock it again once they fill up, right?
-
That's too bad about TTL... I've fished it a few times and there were definitely a lot of nice mirrors. Got some in the 10 lb. range, saw some a good bit larger. I am also going back in late Feb., I guess it will probably be empty by then. Too bad...
Nice mirrrors by the way!
