  1. Obviously spending money on 10 Ring Swivels from Korda is pretty expensive. I noticed on eBay that they sell Ring Swivels in bulk for very cheap. I'm considering buying some, but I have NO way of trusting these products from China or on eBay, and no gaurantee if these Swivels were made in someone's ditch in their back yard, and if they are as strong as they are supposed to be.

Just seeing what you guys' thoughts are on those Swivels and what you all use. I greatly appreciate all the help you guys have and continue to provide.

I know a lot of guys buy those cheap Chinese braided fishing lines on eBay and swear by them. That's a part of my fishing setup that I just CANNOT COMPRIMISE on. If that line turns out to be crap, and I lose a big fish on it, there is no REAL customer service that can help you out with that.

At least I can call Suffix, Power pro, or Cortland if I have problem.

  2. Thankyou both very much for your help guys! I'm going to check both of these out! It's cool to hear that I don't need to spend a lot of money to fing some Solid quality units.

    Dang Joe!

Thank you, it looks like I can't go wrong with this set and the reviews that back it.

That price is Awesome for everything you get!

  3. I use Gamakatsu Octopus Circle hooks all the time when Channel Cat fishing. And each year, I'll accidentally catch a good number of carp and suckers while I'm targeting the Catfish. Im normally using a 3/0 Gama when I do.

This still hasn't convinced me to start using circle hooks for carp fishing. I just have more confidence in the rigs Im using now for carp, to even think of changing.

This year I may set up two rods with my classic carp rigs, then setup a 3rd rod with a circle hook. It wouldn't hurt. I can just see what happens.

My guess though is, that a circle hook wouldnt be able to consistnently hook as many carp as a classic carp rig. But that's just me guessing.?

  4. Hey everyone,

I have been using the Fox Inline Pear leads for some time now for my Carp fishing. But at $2.75 a lead, my carp fishing has become a Very expensive affair. I like them, and they are camouflaged very well. But if there is snags around, I could lose a lot of lead, and money.

What types of cheaper leads do you guys use when carp fishing?

And do you guys find time when you guys need to use camouflaged sinkers?

Thankyou, and have a great day!?

  5. Temps were in the high 40's today, so I headed out to Joliet for some Carpin.

It was nice to get a couple, but I also lost two in some kind of cable that was under the surface.

Always fun catching a few though.?

  6. Howdy all,

I will be doing some carp fishing tomorrow, and will be in a situation where I will need a backlead. I will be fishing way too high up inorder to get my rod tip in the water to sink my line.

I just ordered backleads, but they won't be in for a week.

Is there any make shift way I can put one together to use tomorrow?

     Thankyou kindly!

  7. That is Awesome man! I am catching a bit of a bug for the Carping thing as well. It is really cool how, on most waters,  people still don't even fish for them. Just an untapped resource of Awesome fishing. I hope that most people Don't catch on. Lol!

Plus they can be fished for 365 days a year. May you have a great year Carpin man!
