3lb TC broke right at the joint where the two pieces slide into each other.
-
Its the butt section that broke. Took pliers to pull the butt ferrule out of the tip so it was fully seated all the way.
I got it from BCT and I sent them pics we will see what happens.

I was 1\2 teasing.
If you hold a CCC in Minnesota I will be the first to sign up to help.
-
I remember this " I hope this helps a bit. Maybe the actual organizers will post a more detailed summary soon. --Frank "
I remember this, I guess I was expecting a Bass Master Classic kind of hoopla.
Disappointing

So to my knowledge the CCC happened this past weekend. But I don't to see any comprehensive info about it??? leaderboards, fish catches, pics of who caught what? I keep hitting NEW CONTENT and still don't see it. Is it top secret info or what?
-
Wow! What kind of fight do they put up?
-
I was say wtf? What size hook is he using if he's using fake corn on the hook with no hair??? Then I read silicon corn not rubber or plastic. Can you point me towards a seller of silicon corn I am intrigued and want to check it out.

Lake Marion MN, guarantee you catch carp and you can even pass out drunk in my yard
-
Yup I live on a great carp lake and didn't see any activity for about 3 weeks during the dog days. Some rain and cooler temps and the fishing is great again. So don't panic its not you.
-
Oooooh I never thought about foam I got some too for making zig rigs.
How'd they work out for you?
-
I stick my fake corn on my method ball so it is stuck in the mix on the surface (no fouled hook length that way on the cast. So my hope is its picking up scent from the method mix. No idea if it does or not.
I've toyed with the idea of taking a fine needle and poking like a hundred tiny holes into the surface of the corn then keeping it in like a glug jar of scent. Or using a tiny drill bit to make dimples like on a golf ball. So they retain more scent longer.
I'm also going to try and make my own fake corn using fly tying stuff and deer hair. Deer hair is hollow and floats and has lots of nooks and crannies to hold scent too.
Of course this is all stuff that can wait till the long cold Minnesota winter
-
I've sworn off real corn as a hook bait. I see no difference in using fake vs real except that I have to keep replacing real corn. I've used the same piece of fake corn on 5 or 6 sessions now and its still going strong.
I do use real corn in my method mixes and chum.

Really cool stuff! You are one lucky guy!

Man my face hurts today! I really feel for Joseph he got way more sun than I did! He looked like a lobster at the end of the day!
-
He's so frail he'd get pulled in the lake. While he was at it he bitched about the tree branches we cut off his trees. Despite the fact that by right of law we can cut anything hanging over our roof, raining leaves and sap down on our shingles ruining the roof. Let alone if they break off damaging the house. He bemoans the branches being gone even tho they weren't hanging over his property??? What benefit to him did they have? Aestethics???
Then he whined that 1\2 of my UTV, 2 Wheels! Were on his property line! 2 Wheels! He's pissy cuz I got two wheels on his property but I'm supposed to be OK with giant tree branches reaching over my house???
From now on anytime I fish and he's out there when I catch a carp I'm gonna look right him and smile as I release it back into the lake.
Jackass!

So my neighbor questioned my GF on what we were doing yesterday. (He's very old and hard of hearing) She explained that we were Carp fishing. He asked what we did with the fish. After he learned we released them he proceeded to scold her and give her a lecture on why the Carp should be killed and how the Rod & Gun club pays a "professional" to net the Carp to get rid of them.
Jackass!

Resounding success so far Aniq and Joseph caught fish on their first casts. Been catching steadily since. Pics soon.

Minnesota fish in is back on! This Saturday!
-
During fishing season I dunk them in the lake. Just leave them out to dry in the basement got a dehumidifier in there. I never really put them away I like fishing poles for decoration. They are all over the house.
-
Yes, with these two rainy days and the cooler temps the lake is getting back to normal.
I am free any weekend in September. So let's set a date.
-
The mosquitoes are so horrendous here (I'm allergic) I haven't considered night fishing yet but I may try it.
Do they prefer different depths than normal?
Do you change your presentation? Like maybe they prefer smaller or bigger baits? What are you using and how do you rig it?
On a side note I bought the stuff to try zig rig fishing and right after I got the stuff the Algae broke out. I figured that zig rigging wouldn't work in zero visibility water??? True or false?
-
So what is the deal with the carp here in the dog days of summer?
Do to warm water temps and bright sun do they go deeper like other fish?
Are they not eating or more finicky eaters?
My conditions are warm water temps. Algae has turned the lake murky green so we have about 6" of visibility in the water.
Until recently a method feeder with a short hook length and fake corn was slaying them. I was fishing in about 6 - 8' of water. The last two times I got only one and blanked the other time.
I have pretty much all the stuff to fish any rig.
What would you guys try?
My FOX Warrior S rod BROKE!?!?! Anyone else?

Yeah no I didn't overload it. I learned about method feeders from watching videos of people fishing with them. I've had a fish in and watched others fish with method feeders and packbaits so I know I was no where near overloaded.
