  1. Want to add my congratulations to everyone and especially my fishing partner and Spring Big 4 champion Ian Tallack who was slaying the 30s like I've never seen! Couldn't happen to a better guy and as fine a fishing partner as anyone could ask for. Congrats Ian!

How does one down load the logo? Does not appear to be a .jpeg.

It's a .png which is also a picture file. Just save the image as a png and your photo viewer should still be able to open it. Then I used Snipping Tool to make a copy as a JPG or even copy it onto a word file to print it. That's what I did. Hope that helps.

WOW- that's really impressive, especially for a river fish. I creek fish a lot and those carp are longer, stronger and leaner than lake carp, the majority of the latter don't fight nearly as strong- WELL DONE!!!

Appreciate it MO! Yeah we catch a lot of those long, lean ones which made this one so surprising. Looks to me like a a pre-spawn female with a lot of eggs and probably a lot of the cooked corn I was heavily pre-baiting with!

  4. Totally agree Keith. This would eliminate the confusion. Rule says this:

"To qualify for a Regional Award you must act within all the Rules for the Spring Big 4 2019 and have the State of Capture started in the Leaderboard for all fish in your top 4 which MUST be the same State. "

    Should say this:

"To qualify for a Regional Award you must act within all the Rules for the Spring Big 4 2019 and have the State of Capture started in the Leaderboard for all fish in your top 4 which MUST be the same REGION. "

  5. Thanks for responding Ian. My question is particular to the Regional award only. I will only fish Region 1. I fish the Potomac River and can fish it from several swims in 2 different states. Can I enter 4 fish (total) from 2 different STATES in Region 1 and still qualify for a regional award (like say 2 from DC and 2 from VA)? The rules (see below) seem to indicate they have to be from the same (one) state in the region. That's what is confusing me. If it has to be one state, then I will know to concentrate my efforts in just one to qualify for a Regional Award.

"To qualify for a Regional Award you must act within all the Rules for the Spring Big 4 2019 and have the State of Capture started in the Leaderboard for all fish in your top 4 which MUST be the same State. "

BTW, thanks for everything you do for the club!

  6. Thx MO. I hope someone in charge clarifies this for certain because that seems to be opposite of what I see in the rules:

"To qualify for a Regional Award you must act within all the Rules for the Spring Big 4 2019 and have the State of Capture started in the Leaderboard for all fish in your top 4 which MUST be the same State. "

I just would like to know for sure in order to plan my fishing and not find out later I wasted trips if I fish 2 different states (in my Region 1).

  7. Thanks Sam but I will only be in one Region (Region 1), but have the close by option of 2 states. I fish the Potomac and have options to fish it both in DC and VA (close to me), both of which are in Region 1. So this means I can only fish ONE of those 2 states, DC or VA but not both?

"To qualify for a Regional Award you must act within all the Rules for the Spring Big 4 2019 and have the State of Capture started in the Leaderboard for all fish in your top 4 which MUST be the same State. "

I just want to clarify so I can plan to fish just one of these 2 states if that is the case.

  8. Hi. Have a question please to clarify regions: I fish the Potomac, sometimes in DC, sometimes in VA. If I read this right, in order to qualify for a regional award, I must catch all of my fish in only 1 of those jurisdictions correct (even though both are in Region 1)? I can't enter 2 fish from DC and 2 from VA even though both come from the same Potomac river? Assuming so, this means I'll need to concentrate my efforts in only 1 of those jurisdictions (why I want to be sure I understand). Thanks for any help.

  9. Cool, thanks for the tip on the Dipsey sinkers Chi, I'll check them out (and the braid). Ditto on the method leads, that is mainly what I use also (2.5 - 3 Oz. Fox Paste Bombs) but here on the Potomac, there are some main river spots that when the tide gets ripping (and when the fish seem most active) nothing can hold you except something like a 5 Oz lead so yeah, I think I will pick up a few as Lizardman suggested.

    Tight lines!
