You are correct there was no eye socket just smooth skin. The fish fought very hard and was very active on the bank too. We snapped a few pics and got it back in the water quick I hope to catch it again some day.

Dave I was wondering what you think I thought the carp looked to be born that way. Do you agree or do you think it lost its vision some time through out its life?
-
I was also wondering if it was the same fish you had caught Dave there can't be to many of them its crazy how its been able to over come that and still be such a strong healthy fish. Thanks Bob I have been out quite often still and am landing fish every time pretty much. And to those who were wondering my bait I'm using sweet corn on a hair rig fished ahead of a mothod ball.

I got out this Christmas evening for a short session after seeing my family. The sun had gone down but with a temp of 65° I could not help but get in a short session. I ended up landing a blind Carp, this carp seemed to have been born this way as it had no scaring or discoloration where its eyes should be it was just smooth skin. This way my first Christmas carp and a unique one at that. I followed that up with a morning session with Brandon Dee and we were able to get 3 to the bank between us. Overall this warm new england weather has made for some great December carping.

I got out today for a short hour and a half session with my girlfriend Keri. We fished from 1145 to 115 and landed 4 carp total 2 each, nothing of much size as the largest went 14.3# and was caught by Keri as the first fish of the day just 5 minutes after casting. Overall it was a great day spent togeather on a warm beautiful new England December day.

Nicely done Brian! I am still looking for my first 20+ common I caught my 20+ mirror but was hoping to get a 20+ of each as a goal I had set for myself. Season is not over but this daylight savings time will make it much harder on me with work Monday thru Friday
