  2. Had a couple hours over lunch today so........................WENT FISHING!!!!!, and, at one of my best places for all kinds of creek carp, caught this fully scaled (nearly so ) mirror. It was a little slow, didn't fight much, but was beautiful in the water and out. Just a nice day!! GO FISHING!!- in 3 months, the days get shorter!! MO
  3. First day off in a long time, first covid vaccine, and first with reasonable temps!- spring is definitely on its way and the pandemic is on the wane!!! Caught these 4 in quick succession-all typical creekers- 6-8 lbs but lots of fun!!! Go fishing-it gives ya peace of mind!!! MO
  4. Weather is finally settling!, so migrating from the creeks to the lakes and the bite is starting to pick up!- here's a few from 6-18lbs, the two largest caught tonight .....Good carpin all!
  5. After a spring of fishing we finally got some footage edited, the coffee pot filled and a mug ready for some victory action ! Our first trip of the new season took us to Adams County Fairgrounds. The calm morning quickly turned into a cold, blustery afternoon. Our efforts were rewarded towards the end of the session with a with a nice low double common. We were lucky and shot some footage of a magnificent bald eagle flying over the lake. A very short video from a very cold few hours on the bankside! Hope you enjoy this teaser of the season to come! Best Regards Jo
  6. So...fishin's pickin up!!........in just a three hour session, caught a walleye (yes a walleye!) two channel catfish, and a plethora of carp- some of the strongest fish!-13 fish from 13 to 21-6oz......the waters' warmin. up...won't top the East coast fish, or Codys massive leviathan, but its still great!!!!.........good fishin all!!! MO
  7. My friend Eric and I went out for a session on our local river this past weekend. It certainly didn't disappoint! We were only on the bank for around three hours but managed 2 nice fish! Eric got the first fish, and it ended up being an immaculate, 20-pound even common! It was a new PB for him, and his first fish from this swim. I was rewarded soon after with a chunky 22, my first carp of 2018! It was a nice session; didn't produce any giants but it was nice to get out there again. Tight lines, everyone!
  8. Hi all, In the dog days of winter I find my thoughts turning to spring carp at ice out... Sigh.... Last season I started preparing my own maize, plain mostly but I was thinking of being more creative this time around. I picked up a pressure cooker as boiling it on my bbq was proving to take way too long. I will be starting it on the stove and then continuing on the bbq this spring. Are there any suggestions for flavourings while it boils? I was thinking of something salty like fermented soy bean paste. How about after it is done? I know there are commercial mixes available but I was th
  9. The weather man is calling for warm weather starting this weekend and continuing! I would like to host a get together on St. Patty's Day March 17th. The venue would be erie metro park or North Hydro Park. (thanks Brian and Austin), but am open to other locations. I will provide the corned beef sandwiches and some beverages.
  10. CarpQuest is never over ! The release date for Season 3 of CarpQuest on YouTube is set for Spring 2015. Here is a teaser for you, to get your carp juices flowing ... The new title teaser trailer has been re-edited and produced in full HD with new footage from the past two seasons of CarpQuest. Carp Fishing, Fishing, Family, Friends and Fun Note: This video would not have been possible without the assistance of my brother, Peter Finney, and his production skills. Thanks Bro for all your hard work, patience and dedication in working with me to this finished for the fans! Hope you
  11. The last couple of weeks have been hectic as I'm getting the house ready for new carpet. Painting, removing the old carpet, shuffling furniture around the house, etc. have taken all my time. Missed opening day of turkey season but still time left. Spring is when a guy's thoughts turn to..................CARP! What else is there? I noticed that TVA is raising the lake levels which means carp will be moving into the shallows to spawn. Also, dry areas are now places that are easy to access for carp. Have to take inventory and get my stuff ready to bait a couple of swims close to home. Als
