Well, once the chores were done on Saturday, I packed the gear in the trunk and whipped down to the harbour to relax for a couple of hours and maybe trick a few fish. The wind was gusting and in my face when I arrived. Good for these guys, I supposed. But good for me too. I find the fishing tends to be better with an onshore wind, no matter what the species. Anyhoo, I didn't have to wait long for the bite alarm to signal fish in the area. I was getting lots of line bumps then finally a fish. Infact, the next fish came as I cast out my presentation and was placing the rod on the pod! I didn't even get it set when I felt the pull and full wrath of the fish on the other end! All the Carp fell to 3 or 4 kernels of maize on a hair, sitting on a tightly chummed area of catupulted maize. I the end, I went 5 for 6 with all the fish being between 12lbs to 17bls, this being the biggest.
