  1. I got curious about the origin of the Mississippi River. I clicked on a photo of the watershed and started through a slideshow of points along the river. One photo was of a boat ramp on Lake Pepin, the widest part of the river. On either side of the boat ramp, there seemed to be a gravel area that I thought would be great for carp fishing.
  2. I have been scouting these miracle fish since the summer. Today I grabbed my 9# and my 6# respectively with a Chartreuse Clouser Minnow (in hopes for pike and walleyes) shown in the video below and an egg sucking leech just in case the Carp would cooperate. I managed to get him to cruise a foot off course to just bump my fly, but a commoner even slurped and spit it out... I really wish I'd get a chance to bring one to hand one of these days... A Koi since I've had my share of Carp on the Fly
  3. Sorry to start off the WI reports thread with such a gloomy kick off but this is my latest report: http://scontent-b-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xap1/t1.0-9/10372350_10152226720021985_4781526121878045948_n.jpg This was the picture all over my favorite Lake Delton, yesterday... http://scontent-b-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/t1.0-9/10415691_10152226720056985_5792273841959749219_n.jpg Fish were mostly Yellow Bass, Crappies and Pike with some that were of size I never expected in there: http://scontent-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xaf1/t1.0-9/10341660_10152226725171985_6977371197326003224_n.jpg http://scontent-b-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfp1/t1.0-9/10299141_10152226725061985_4499450268651375253_n.jpg http://scontent-b-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/t1.0-9/10362619_10152226725096985_6461032316525041394_n.jpg Like that Sucker http://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpa1/t1.0-9/10402630_10152226725116985_4379397507273399725_n.jpg http://scontent-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpf1/t1.0-9/10395180_10152226725226985_2658010565775758135_n.jpg Last few days pollens have been terrible so my theory is that the massive clouds of pollen that wash off in the water clog the fishes' gills and suffocate them... The carp were the only ones that were happily swimming by, I guess they can handle the abuse more than other fish... Only caught one that was about two pounds on a yellow yarn egg in 1 FOW on sandy canal.

  6. A beauty from my last session (was targeting Channel Cats off of a sandy beach at Wisconsin River's bend) my nephew was there for the net job (eager learner) ;-) Enjoy!
