Nice fish Buckeye and AK. Bob, you always record your trips quite nicely, both in pics and words - well done
-
Great pics, the fish does look prehistoric, especially in the first picture. Looks kind of like a tapir, those wierd piggy-type animals in the beginning of Kubrick's 2001. Great story behind it too!

Thanks all - the CCC page has been updated with the award winners and additional pix - never too late to add more. http://www.carpanglersgroup.com/tenthchica...arpclassic.html
The overall results are also available on the second page
Trevor - make sure your wife would want the honor before presenting it
The CCQ - could be another award..
-
Beautiful fish Brian, I especially like the sort of "aberrant" scale pattern along the back of the biggie. Will get in the Picture Gallery soon..

Here's the page for the 10th Classic: http://www.carpanglersgroup.com/tenthchica...arpclassic.html - not an official link from the site yet.
Official and overall results not complete yet, still out there in "traveling man" David's lap top
These are from just one camera - if you have any more to add, please send them in (with a caption too). Also, if anybody knows the missing names, please clue me in..thanks

That fish seems to be posing the same way with Siamond
Ermghoti - do you want the pic posted in the Gallery? Might make an interesting comparison with Siamond's pic. How different were the dimensions then?

Keith,
You're all blurry and fuzzy - recognize your avatar from the photo gallery. You'll have a PM here in a minute..

Keith,
There is a copyright notice of protection on each and every one of my pages, which you'll also find on all of the CAG pages. Having said that, you and I both know that it will probably be ignored by most people, as they may not even think to look for it. I haven't officially registered each image/page with the U.S. Copyright office, though I can do so retroactively if I find the need to take legal action. However, I don't have the funds, time or desire to do such a thing in any case. These aren't exactly works of Van Gogh that I create. Usually just one note to the webmaster is enough to get something removed. Unfortunately, the www has bred the attitude that if it's on the net, it's free for the taking. Just look at all of the music sharing and the resulting law suits, even against 12 year old kids. The web has reduced art to just downloadable bytes of data - sorry, feeling old and curmudeonly lately. <_<
Brian,
I have no desire to create a mountain out of a molehill, this will be the end of it (PM sent to Tucker)
Tucker,
I hope this doesn't discourage you from participating in the CAG forum - just that when something like that gets presented right under my nose, brings out a little Billy Jack in me. Otherwise, nice site, but you may want to give the option to turn the music off.
-
Tucker,
Those little carp along the bottom of your site
Look remarkably like one of my designs
In fact, they look exactly alike, except for the deliberate removal of my trade name. You could even see where the bottom of the fins were clipped off. I know all too well that this is the nature of the wild, wild, web, where graphics and content appear to be up for grabs. But it still chaps my a$$ to see my original work taken with no permission and no credit, which has happened more than a few times. "It's just a tiny graphic, what's the harm?" It in effect reduces my ORIGINAL work into anybody's clipart. You may have had nothing to do with the graphic, or got it from another source. It doesn't matter to me. It's still MY original work, and I gave no authorization for it's use, whether altered or not. I know yours is a non-commercial, personal site. But it's still on the WWW for anybody's access.

Nice fish Sask and Carpknight - I'll get to posting in the Picture Gallery this week. Good idea on separate threads Siamond. For those that have posted pics in other sections in the past, please feel free to post here again, I know I missed a lot. Thanks and congrats on those catches
-
New section by request - good idea as this will centralize the great pics members have been posting. For CAG members who want to add an exceptional personal catch to the Photo Gallery, please provide some basic details like:
Angler:
Type: Common, mirror, etc.
Weight:
Date:
Bait:
Location:
Home:
And any story you'd like to go with it. Thanks
-
Welcome Anthony - just to let you all know I moved this over to the 'Bio' section
-
Check out the latest issue of North American Carp Angler (Jan-Mar 03) - there you'll find an article by fly fishing editor Tom Connor on the basics of tackle and some basic hints to get you started...a good read

Oh I wouldn't call that fish unattractive, quite stunning actually. The eyes look mammalian (sp?) and the head seems huge too, compared to many other large fish with relatively small heads. I'd say she's a beauty
