I need help getting started in carp fishing can some one help? I can't afford the gear to fish properly? Can you help?
Maybe if you to tell us why you can't afford the right gear, and what kind of gear you are looking for. That would give us an better understanding of your situation. then maybe you might get some help.

It's not tackle you use but how you use it that hooks the fish. search for some underwater videos of carp feeding and see how they take the bait., so if it's slack line or bolt rig you use you will catch more fish if you know how carp feed.

I fish a river and I chum with corn, I dump the water from the corn in the river to attract fish from downstream. I chum for three days in advance of when I plan on fishing. But you should be sure your spot kolds fish, my spot has deep water just out from were I cast my bait.

I wish I could have gotten a ride to lake storey for this event. I had my gear all ready but alas it was not to be. I do remember years past and all the fun we had, like when the racoon got into your tent and got your bread. And when you guys thought I was going to fall into the fire. And when Dave caught the fish with my hook link in its mouth from when I lost it in the weeds.
Heres hoping there will be more good times to come.

Mickey- did Howard say how the fishing was?
He was only checking the lake level he hasn't told me of any fish, and he said with the lake dropping he didn't think it would be good nud wise.

I don't know about this year, but in the past it had to be an umbrella or a shelter open on one side no closed tents.
If you come down I 88 and 74 I could lend you my fox umbrella like the one in the photo if you would take good care of it.
And of course return it to me when the event is over.
I make the offer because it don't look like I I have a ride to the lake on Friday or Saturday .

The trailer my carp gear, chair,rods,chum bucket and so on. I'll take a photo when I load it up.

It is just 2 weeks to this event. If you are planning on attending please post on here. I would like to get an idea so I know how many swims to chum when I get there on Tues. Sept. 30th. If we have at least 4 camp sites we can get a discount on camping for being a nonprofit organization. It would be $8 a nite instead of $14 a nite. Fish-On Bill

I.m hoping to catch a ride to lake storey Friday or saturday, but my tent was destroyed in the fire at my place, but I have my fox brolly,ether I could share a campsite with someone or if someone has a tint I could use for the day or two.
I'll let you know for sure ahead of time if I have a ride to lake storey. and you let me know if someone has a tent I could use, The borlly will be used at the waters edge so I just need a tent for the camp site if I need to rent one.

Four years ago my eyesight had come to the point that I can't drive any longer, and the VA declared me housebound, so I fixed up this electric bike.
To go fishing at the Rock River when Carolyn can't make it. I had to make an trailer hitch to fit the bike as the motor precluded the standard hitch location. I also put some fenders from another bike as the electric bike didn't come with fenders.

The city is lowering the lake now for fall they started just after Labor day. Yesterday they had 5 inches of rain, I hope it's not too muddy come Oct 1

Carolyn and I fished our spot today, after a slow start things picked up a bit. We got eight fish one was a fantail carp the first for me if I rember right. All in all a nice day of fishing.

Yes I thank the fish commission of the USA for its stocking program whenever I go fishing.

Just for once I was able to catch more than you. I had a great time which would have been better had I not had the left leg giving me what for ( and these are supposed to be the 'Golden Years' Will contact you soon. Cheers for now Grahame.

I truly hope you can do that again the next time we go fishing.Carolyn also said she was glad you caught more fish after driving that far to fish with us. Let us know when you get patched up and we will do it again.
