He was in Iowa the day before yesterday, and got himself some Iowa fish one of them was a small grasser.

Well, use a 1oz or 2oz sinker fixed between the swivel and a split shot on your main line to act as a anchor for the hair rig, So the fish will hook them selfs.

As for finding carp, Find a spot and chum out the corn and wait for them to find it, But pick a spot where you have seen some carp if you can. With carp it's a waiting game.
