Fishing from a boat would be no different than fishing from an island.......I fish for carp from a boat, bank, gravel bar, toilet, pond, lake, river, creek, hill, etc. I don't think a boat gives an advantage or disadvantage................................my three cents, adjusted for inflation...................  MO

A boat doesn't give advantage!? I wish I had a boat for certain fish that went under bridges and wrapped around who knows what.

I’d say let him take a pic of the fish on a mat with scale and logo in the picture.

If we start that then who knows? Just sit on something or the ground if you have to...

At my age I still take fish pics on my knees mainly cause Im often alone. Weather you lose balance or the fish flops around, usually under 5 takes you will get the pic necessary for entry.

  3. Oh yeah very nice fish, especially on #12 in a river where theres all kinds of stuff to fray the line on. Check your line frequently. I fish #20 anywhere. As winter sets in then lighten your setup, moving water in shallow streams, brooks, canals is where you'll find them but you are much less likely to land one over #20. That's why I hit ice with my buddies for other species.

  4. 20lb mono main line with 30lb braid hook link. I fish it in all kinds of situations. After about 50 fish caught the mono gets worn and stripped, time to change it, time on the spool plays a role too as it sits in the sun and through different weather. Braid doesn't get weathered as fast as mono.
