  1. Jordan Wesley from Hertfordshire has caught the biggest carp in the world so far this year.

Spotted by his Father, Keith the 86.5lb Mirror known as ‘The Scarred Mirror’ was caught using the Chub Outkast 12ft 3lb TC Rods during a week’s fishing session on the Graviers in France.

Fishing at a 150 yard range the successful bait included half a kilo of Richworth’s Ultra-Plex Boilies per fish and Jordan offered hookbaits on Rigs incorporating size 8 Solar strong hold hooks, 20lb stiff hinge rigs and 5oz prototype Solar debris leads.

Jordan also caught 6 other fish up to 55lb during the trip using the Chub Outkast Rods.

getting caught 3 times a year now and still packing on weight, good to see. Not the biggest weight as Gery Hagues still has the record I think but the largest carp still around and kicking - big congrats to Jordan B)

  2. I'm just wondering what Frank done to upset you guys?.

BTW your rods will be on TV next week on Michigan out of doors!

Heard that Kev, might my boat also be making a maiden voyage B) well done on the publicity B) Ask Jeff about Frank but don't do any kind of business with him I was at least the 3rd person to get stung.

  3. We made the decision this year that we would buy from US suppliers (rather than Specialist) and go loco for a week. As a sign of respect to Wayne at K-1 (and a big middle finger to Red Demon B) wanker) we wanted to film a take on K-1's new range of pop ups, this was taken on a .....ahem, I'm sure you'll work it out!

  4. As some of you may know myself and Skerrje headed over to the US side of the Larry for a loooong awaited week of pre-spawn madness. Based on local knowledge our intial scope of Kring Point didn't work out so the friendly and reliable hands of Ed were just waiting to catch us!! I'll post a full story of the ups and downs of the week later when I re-adjust to my time zone, but long story short is 44lb 2oz caught on 13ft Century FBS rod, daiwa sportsmatic, 6oz grippa lead and 24" Korda IQ using several pieces of plastic maize tipping a 20mil pineapple pop up on a size 2 long shank

Where else but strawberry fields! We did 3 pretty uncomfortable days in here but it was well worthwhile. Ed tells me this is the 3rd 40 out of this swim in 2008 (good historical records for the CAG Big Fish List!!)

  5. Great fish Andy, we had two littl'uns on the bounce so Friday I travel over to Toronto to meet Jeff and it will be my first trip in just over 2 years, they fill up your world for a long time but you'll feel that familiar tug to get out on the bank sooner or later B)

That dark common has been in deep water and must have just moved up in the shallows, the longer the summer goes on the lighter the commons get (mirrors get darker) that mirror is also a fine looking beast.

    Good luck fella!

Where did you get the 60 from Dave, it looks French. I work in Haydock down the road from you, you fish anywhere local? Welcome aboard pal B)

  7. Frank

You supplied me with a few pounds of top quality 30mil baits to fish the Ebro in Spain, I didn't include this in the write up but I stopped using them because they were picking up too many 100lb+ catfish and smashing me up. I fished 80lb power pro and Kryston 'ton up' hooklinks with a single 30 mil to attempt to entertain the 40+ fish from there, would get an absolute screamer that would spool me resulting in another 30 bucks of re-spooling costs!! I ended up breaking most of them down and feeding them to the resident single figure fish in the Catmaster Tours bar - which they took to greedily :D as did I after the 12th pint :D I became known as 'the guy with the soccer ball baits' over there so good skills brother, keep trucking and go find that 50
