Thanks. This tank is just 1.5 years old and focused mainly on SPS corals. It’s been challenging for some reason compared to my last reef. I’ve finally managed to frag about 25 corals for friends recently. I really like the challenge of acropora:)

Beautiful aquarium! I ran a 400 gallon softy reef and 500 gallon stony reef for ten years, then took them down and redid them separately for a change. Here is a cruddy pic of my reef with just my actinic bulbs.

I’m looking to buy about $1400 worth of tackle and the shop I’m looking at wants $200 shipping. I order a lot of saltwater supplies online and most vendors offer free shipping after the first couple hundred bucks. Any carp tackle shops here in the US that don’t charge astronomical rates? Thanks

Damn! Beautiful fish. I’ve caught all of those except Grayling when I used to fly fish all the time. I just can’t manage the streams on my legs these days and found carp fishing to be a suitable substitute for my situation. I loved examining the insect life and matching the hatches at the time, very exciting hitting massive trout on a small dry fly. I’ve still got all of my gear.

Caught one today, my friend caught three Buffalo, the largest being 20-25 pounds but unhooking it his finger got wrapped in the rig and cut him pretty badly, then it came off and fell back in. It was in the net for four or five minutes recovering before the mishap. Those Buffalo are slimy stinkers.

I’m pretty new and looking at the rules, I think I’ll have to wait until I get better. Would love to meet other carp anglers just to learn, but I’d probably just be a pest.?

Different river, different results. My new Saber scale was broke out of the box, but he felt every bit of 20 pounds. I’m 6’5” and 270 pounds for reference. Took five minutes to bring it in.

Interesting. No whiskers on it. It’s mouth didn’t look like a grass carp, hard to see in that picture though. It didn’t fight like a grass carp either. It went back to the river in good shape.

My scooters (I have two different models) were purchased from triad motion.com. I use one at work full time to get around and the big blue one you see here is for recreational use to get me around outdoors. Best purchases I’ve ever made. Their company is just awesome!

My new wagon is a touch bigger than I thought it would be, I’m going to have to buy a small trailer to haul it. The scooter is because I can’t walk very well in case your wondering why I’m so geeked out?

How is the local neighborhood with car thefts, etc? I’ll probably bring all my gear inside the hotel, but wasn’t sure what the local feel was.
