  1. Hi

    Lester:

"If the catfisherman can catchem without specialized gear so can I."

Yes but I ain't you unfortunately, when I fish for carp I usually catch bass :D

    Neil:

That poor carp with the sombrero I hope you killed it as it would probably be the joke of the local pond afterwards, I can imagine the other carps rolling around on the bottom making fun at that one :D . Nice the carp barrow but not cheap, I need a rod bag and a carp mat before I buy this but merci still.

    Jerome:

Merci pour la combine rod pod. Still I would go for wife before kid in my case, my daughter can be a bratt when she has to do stuff she don't want to.

    Keith:

I work for Fedex, 100 deliveries daily, I should be fine, was just trying to find out how it's done.I need to get a rod bag probably.

    Lonewolf:

I have a toolbox and my wife mostly uses it. When I met her years ago, while driving we got a flat, guess who had to show me how to change it? Yes her, and we were driving a french car in my country France and my wife is a yank!!!

Not too handy with tools but I like your idea still.

    Javajoe:

I can tell you have been doing this for a while. I have been fishing on and off for years but carp fishing seems to involve more gear. Thanks for the tips.

    Sodbury Steve:

Nice pic Steve, thanks. I guess that's one of those rather expensive carp barrow.I got to say it seems conveniant.

    John Essexman:

Where r you? Don't want to throw your 2 cents on that one? Or chillings maybe? :D

Thanks for all the tips guys, I will manage.I can't wait to nail some carps even small.

  2. Hi

Another question from a rookie trying to get his season organized.

When you set up let's say 3 rods on your rod pod, one line to the left, one dead center and one to the right do you get into problems with other fishermen trying to cast their lures where your lines are, or boats, canoes or worse jet skis!

In Europe most people are used to carp setups and know to steer clear but here in the states I am afraid they won't understand when I tell them that my 3 poles cover 50-100 yards of water from point A to point C and going through point B.

I would hate to chum and spend some time on a spot to have to remove my line for a reason or another.

If you can provide past experiences and tips that would be appreciated.

    Thanks a lot

  3. Hi

Maybe some of you will find this post stupid but I have been wondering about it.

I was wondering how you guys select your fishing spots and carry all your gear to that spot.

Do you always fish close to your car? I have found a couple of spots where I saw carps being taken by catfish fishermen but they are a 10 minute walk through winding trails in the woods from the car.

How in the world can I carry, 2 rods(In round tubes you know the cabelas ones), reels, rod pod, carp net, chum, bait, fishing box, lunch, drinks, a folding seat (Yes I need a seat), camera, carp bag and whatever I forgot to list.

How in the world do you fish far from the car?Do 2 trips?Have a buddy but he has his gear to haul too?

What if you go down the spot bring half your gear, drop it, go back to the car, come back down and the gear you left 20 mn ago is gone?

Or I bull#### the wife and tell her she will have a great time and have her carry half :D or I need to carry half 50 yards down the trail, go back to the car grab the other half walk pass the first half of the gear drop 50 yards away, go back to first pile and so on, so I never lose sight of my precious gear.
