  1. It was awesome to stop out and chat with you guys while on a work break only to witness within minutes of visiting you guys my special mirror I had out 4 years ago now caught by Austin, I said wait a minute, he looks rather familiar..ha ha...was very cool. I kept thinking if I would have left a minute or two earlier, I would have missed that. Again one of the truly unique aspects of catch and release within our sport.

Oh and Brendan, tell us again about your epic struggle with that mega beast of a 12 lber :)

  2. Hey Guys,

Just wanted to wish all of you participants the best of times this weekend. Nikki and I will not be in attendance this year. We are very close to our due date and with Holland being hours away and Nikki believing we will have him earlier than expected we have to stay close to home.

Catch some Holland Hogs for us!!

    Tight lines,

    Andy

  3. Awesome Brian!

I had no clue about the northern...awesome and that happens quite a bit on that river. Seen it 6 times myself....this one makes number 7..lol!

lets hope Next year we have some better weather.

Was a pleasure to meet your wife.

    Tight lines,

    Andy

  4. It has just come to my attention that the stinking road crews started construction again onI-75, so our exit is closed. please follow these directions:

75 northbound to 675 nb, 675 nb to exit 1, right onto veterans memorial parkway, continue to m13. Right onto m13. Continue nb on m13. You will go under the Zilwaukee bridge and the meeting spot will be marked with orange flags on the same side of the road as the river. Just a couple miles or so from the bridge.

Please let the others in your state know about this.

  6. Hello all,

Just 2 more days and then the fun shall begin!

It appears at this moment the river is holding in stable lower water level/current conditions and the wind direction is in the favor of the participants. This means it is looking like the first time in the history of tournaments on this river that participants will not face raging flood conditions.

Whomever shows up to represent their State should be in for a real treat this weekend and go home a happy carper no matter the outcome of which state wins.

    Good luck to all!

Please stay tuned to this thread for updates throughout the weekend.

  7. Jetson,

No prob, I love that place and have tried to open it up to share it with as many folks as possible, however when I host a large scale tournament it always floods...this will be my 4th attempt, right now it is looking like its holding well...but, it is knicknamed the "Sagnasty" for a reason....

Regardless, rain, slett, snow, flood or sunshine, there will be fish there. The trick is to time them coming in from the Bay, and this year everything suggests it is darn near perfect timing so I truly expect to see or hear about some nice hogs caught!!

I've fished that river for many years so if you need anything at all, please let me know (after the tourney of course..lol).

    Tight lines,

    Andy

  8. River conditions are holding at the moment....rain is forecasted every day now through Saturday and this could rise the river up so make sure to pay attention to this link:

    http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=dtx&gage=sagm4&view=1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1&toggles=10,7,8,2,9,15,6

At the moment, I plan to be at the river (zone draw area) on Friday at 12 to start putting the orange flags up which indicate the beginning and end of each zone.

There is a serious chance that I add another zone on that day dependent on the river conditions.

6am on Saturday is the Zone Draw. Due to some health issues I am having, I am likely to appoint individuals to help me out from each team.

Very excited to see you all,

    Andy

My number is 248-982-4953 should anyone need to get a hold of me. If you get to my voicemail, please leave a message. Texts are great to, just let me know who you are..lol

  9. Fish reports from this weekend were very encouraging to say the least. Great Numbers, and hogs from places that would make ya scratch your head.... Whole different set of scenarios this year when compared to last year.

Some rain is in the forecast and that can change things very quickly, so stay tuned to if that will or will not have any effect.

  10. Andy,

Please add my name to the stand-by list for Team Indiana (Roy Buchanan). I plan on attending the event even if a slot doesn't open up for me to fish. Sorry for the late notice. I just transferred to another duty location and I will now be able to make the trip. I look forward to seeing everyone again this year.

    Roy

    Hello Roy,

You are now the 1st reserve for Indiana. Looking forward to seeing ya.
