  1. That looks like a foto taken at a marina. At the Lake Mead marinas with restaurants, the carp get lots of leftovers from unfinished meals and they hang around in great numbers. But no fishing is allowed close to those marinas. At one of the marinas, I once placed a 2 inch range cube in the mouth of a distinctive 20+ lb carp. It then just slowly sank out of sight underneath the masses of other carps. Five minutes later he was back looking for more. Here's some more Lake Mead fotos.

  2. I am 80% positive I just caught and released the Oregon record Carp

I tried to find the Oregon record for carp. Seems like Oregon does not keep records for carp. At least I could not find any such records. I checked:

    http://www.landbigfish.com/staterecords/re...fm?state=Oregon

    http://www.dfw.state.or.us/ODFWhtml/InfoCn...ishRecords.html

My questions then are: What is your source for establishing the "Oregon record carp"? And, what is the Oregon record carp?

  3. With maize, you're scrood unless you fish at night.

I don't know if it'll work, but it might be worth a try to use a 1" to 1.5" long range cube on a hair rig. In my experience, the ducks can't handle the range cubes altho they sometimes try to. Try "feeding the ducks" with the range cubes so that they begin to realize that they're too big to handle. The cubes also are generally dirt brown in color which camouflages them somewhat.

  4. You are Top Class, Horace. Such a great sense of humor! I may not always reply, but I think I read almost every one of your posts. It would be so pleasant if the world were full of guys like you. Happy Carpin. fing32.gif
