  1. My paypal payments are taken out directly from my bank checking account not my credit card . I don't remember when I opened

my paypal account but they may require a credit card as a back up , If not you should be ok with just a checking account.

  2. Joel; I have driven around the lake but it's 90% private property with homes all around , there is a spot on the north

end which is the end the dead tench was found that has no homes but it's tough to get to the lake from that end , may have to get to a

fishing spot by boat .I will check it out again when I'm up that way in a few weeks

  3. Dave , you may want to reserve a spot for a USA team very soon , as far as I can tell they are limiting the number of teams

to 120 and there are already 117 teams registered although there is talk they may increase the number of teams to 135 after they

scout out new areas of the lake that are being added this year. I hope you can make it happen it will be great to have the USA

    represented again.

  4. What size lead is going to be needed.

    any mussels

Under normal river levels a 3 oz lead would be ok but with any large river system weather conditions could cause the river to rise and increase flow requiring heavier leads .

There are few mussels in some areas but have not been a problem with cut offs.

  5. Hey guys, these questions are for you guys who have fished this venue.

How far from the vehicles will we be?

In a few pics I have seen what looks to be a concrete wall you are fishing off of, how far off the water is it? Looking for this info so that I can make up some longer cords for our carp sacks.

    Thanks

If the concrete wall ( Hartford side) is going to be pegged your vehicle will be close behind you ( 20 yards) . On the other side of the river ( East Hartford side) there is a parking lot at one end of the section , if you happen to be pegged at the opposite end you may have a couple of hundred yards walk on a flat walking / jogging path unless the park gives the ok to drive to your peg to unload , I would assume Dave will ask for permission to drive on the path.

At normal river conditions the water could be as much as 6 feet down from the top of the wall at low tide and 4 feet at high tide.

  6. Dave has the issue of the local "meat fishermen" been addressed? After reading the fish-in write up I feel it should be addressed before the event rather than waiting until it happens. Just my opinion.

    Jason

As far as I am aware these guys just fish weekends, and they don't start fishing until late morning or afternoon , as the tournament finishes 10:00am Saturday it should not be a problem.

  7. What a coincidence , I just came back from a short three hour session at the TOC venue . I had the same result as I did a when I fished there a few weeks ago, six carp landed all low to high teens and one larger one estimated mid. twenties lost at the net today . So in a total of six hours fishing this venue in two different swims I have landed twelve carp and lost a couple with only a small amount of pre-baiting. There are plenty of fish to be caught , you will have to sort through several smaller fish to get to the big boys right now but the bigger ones will hopefully be showing themselves more frequently come October.

We are having a Connecticut fish-in on the Connecticut river at the "Charter Oak Landing"in Hartford at on September 13th, details and directions to follow in the next couple of days.

  8. Steve, I have a brand new 3 piece Match Rod I bought in France a few years back.

You may have a look at it at the NEYC. If you like it it's yours.

    -M

Please bring it along , I would like to take a look at it.

  9. Thanks guys :D

Give thanks to Ed to discover this little astonishing place in the middle of nowhere :D

Beautiful mirror Miguel , I'm glad I was there to witness it and on the float to boot.

As Miguel said this is a small venue in a town park , the kind of place we all have in our own towns , go out and give them a try ,

you never know what may be lurking in them.

A big thanks to Ed wagner for putting this fish-in together.

PS : Anyone got a float rod for sale
