  1. Miguel,

Great job despite the weather. Did Paul tell you about the time we went to Overpeck during the flood....

I took a ride over to Muscoot res. to chuck in some bait, the wind was so strong I had trouble spodding bait more than 10 or 15 yards. I'll be working up that spot for a week or so, gott be some pre-spawn monsters lurking about there!

Did you get your permit yet?

  2. My son received this month's "Boys Life" magazine, which is a monthly boy scouting publication, and was surprised to see a 1 page write up on carp fishing basics. If I didn't know better I'd say a CAGer wrote it. A lot of empahasis on "doughballs", including a recipe (for doughballs that is!).

  3. Nodak,

I have played around with this a bit, and found to get more hookups with the shorter shank style hooks. I just stay away from the turned up eye style, which seem to turn the hook the wrong way when the carp try to spit it out.

"dangle angle" - now that's a carper term if I ever heard one.

  4. Hi Mark,

As you have heard I am the CT chairperson for CAG. As was mentioned, you are in a great area for specimen hunting. Have you tried the CT River? Feel free to e-mail me off list for specifics anytime. Good to have you aboard. We have some real knowledgable guys who know this area pretty well.

    Regards,

    Mike Dragone (CT Chair)
