Brian, all the good swims will be pegged that can be reached easily by foot. And I really mean ALL! Sacks may be needed on some swims " Provided free"
We will have some back up swims for people unable to walk.
This is going to be a great event!
Richard
To summarize it in one word: AWESOME!
Thanks guys!

Yeah, on the way for you actually. I live about 175 miles to the east of Oahe, and the lakes around me are full of upper teens to thirties, and I will get some 40 plussers this year.
Maybe I'll stop by during the summer as I drive cross country, who knows? For 40+ I'd even fly there

Actually that is Richard's excuse that he uses. I ya want to know the truth, he blurs the pics on purpose to avoid giving away his spots
Good fish guys! And what a great idea -- blurring the pics... I 'll start doing that too...

Yeah, but I have a proper rodpod now, so I can let other people use those, if I can persuade anyone to go carpin' with me!LOL
Welcome friend. And thanks for sharing that Esox spot with us. I plan to take a trip across the country come summer so perhaps I'll stop by to give it a try.
BTW, nice fish! And no worries, less people fishing for carp == more fish for us

Awesome. You gotta love those gator pikes!
I'll keep it in mind. I may take a drive up there sometime soon.
Any biggie carp waters nearby?
Cheers,
Marius

I don't know if any of you also enjoy catching large pike, but if you do I know one of the best high probability areas in the country for the shot at big pike over the 20 pound mark. The state fisheries biologists were claiming that there were no pike in this body of water that were under 10 pounds last summer. If I get any responses, I will let you know where this is, and when the best time of year for a big girl is.
John
Sure brother -- I love those big toothy critters (and I release all of them).
Let us know!

Awesome Mark -- thanks for checking! I appreciate it. Saves me the hassle of shipping rods back and forth....
My rod case is soooo long though...

I'll probably fish for fun after the ATC for 3 to 4days, perhaps on Town or some other nearby venue. I plan to have fun in the city of Austin as well. A fishing trip further out may also happen as well.

Guys, I just shipped some rods to MO via UPS ground and it cost me $36! Then, figure you have to send them back Austin to Boston....that's waaaaayyy to expensivo for me!
Any other ideas? What's the airline size limit for check-ins, other than AA and Jetblue?

Just booked my flights with JetBlue. From thursday, 3/23 - Saturday, 4/1, I paid a total of $170.80 (including all fees). Not too shabby. My dad, who will be with me down, and leave Sunday the 26th, is paying a total of 202.80.
Check out JetBlue also..
That's amazing...they've got to be losing money on this...
How is everyone getting their rods there? Ship or checked luggage?

pat i checked ACE the other day they are now located in the airport(for your convenience ) so the silly taxes apply to published rates
be prepared for
10% tax
3.5% credit card fee
5% city fee
1.95 a day cfc fee (not sure)
and $3.85 a day property tax.
and that i think stands for all the rental places too
Yep Mark -- I noticed that that plethora of taxes too -- it makes the total cost of renting a car while down there quite high...
Thanks for the PM. Greatly appreciated!
-Marius

Hey guys, what's the best rate anyone has found on a car rental?
Scotty man, you can stop by the office anytime
-Marius

Alright guys -- I just made my travel arrangements for the ATC and wanted to share with you the deal I found:
Boston-Austin and back -> $190 (all taxes and fees included!) yep that is American dollars!
Unbelievable (via www.aa.com)!
Post the deals you find here, for AIR, car rentals, coupons, etc.

Marius,
You got the packet ....right?????
Yep. The pins, the info, thanks! What are the radios for?

You can also use heavy feature-finding weights to find the breaks, old river beds, submerged islands and other hot spots.

Awesome! Thanks for the offer. I may take you up on it. We'll most certainly have a blast, and maybe I can hook you up with some Euro-style gear. I'd just love to fish that part of the country -- never have -- but I always hear great things about.
Cheers,
Marius
