'Looks like the top ten in rank are the top ten carp states.

Interesting....NY has 53 members, but I only know a handful of them and know of a few more. How can I find the rest of these members?

The Rodmaker
Don't go there. I already tried that.

Just an off day? You did see a big one so you know they are there. This is an off time of the year too. You might go back there in May and not be able to keep them off your line. You certainly can't accurately judge a water in February.

Never mind the size, how can i fish die of stress????? No an acceptable excuse as far as i am concerened. If this had happend in the UK the guy would be buried with it !!!
Holding a 50 pounder by the gill covers? That should do it.

Good points, Buster. Now that you mention it, he is clearly in violation of the Elbow Rule.
What is the Elbow Rule?

What an incredible fish! It has to be bigger than 50lb, no doubts. Man, when will I catch something like that...
Jerome,
For you to qualify anymore, you have to take a video of it first.

This year I will be kayak fishing the Hudson, Wallkill, Esopus, and the Rondout Creek. All my life I have fished from shore and never really caught much worth bragging about.
The Hudson is always a producer, and a producer of some nice fish. As you go south on the river it keeps getting bigger. Maybe the carp do too, lol. I'm sure you'll have some braggers by cold water next fall.
I've never fished those other three rivers you mention. Give me a shout if you want some company when the water warms up.

Hi Joe,
Welcome to the forum. Where is Rosendale located? I'm in Halfmoon, NY.

Good to see some ladies involved with the DRCFA...regardless of if they caught or not. Looks like it was a fun day!
FIFSKAS: I agree wholeheartedly. Myself, I like to see ladies whether they are involved or not.

Optimism is a wonderful thing.
But, alas, it seems that we are just going to have to wait for the carp to tell us when they will be ready to do battle. They just aren't ready to cooperate up in this neck of the woods yet.

Texas E: Please tell me what catalog you got yours out of. I want to order mine immediately and get the feel of it before the season.

Awesome!!! ...and that would be Alex's wife Jerome!!
They are all great pictures.
And, Stewart, that is quite a coincidence: Our vice-president is also named Jerome.

Those small streams can be fun.

Thanks for another great year full of memories guys and gals...
Nice fish. The first set of pics has great looking water for a backround.

A picture is worth a million words.
And then we caught another fish.
Now, THAT, is a true Crown Royal smile!

Question....for the people who have tried different carp fishing games.....which one is the best in your opinion?
Open Water

It would appear that our baits have actually been in the mouths of carp infinately more times than we ever imagained.

Good point Ken, I think I better get out this weekend.
Yes, and make it at least a 4 hour session to get all the proper benefits.

Most of you have already seen those pics... But hey, let me brag once more!
Full details on the story were provided on this thread!
Dear Mr. Moisand,
On behalf of all the other members of The Carp Anglers Group let me offer you congratulations and a well done on your Koi recognition record. To be thusly recognized as such a prestigious record holder in a sage group such as this is indeed a rare honor.
May you keep your honor for years, and if superceded by a larger specimen, may the skillful fisher again be none other than Mr. Jerome Moisand.

Alrighty then. Should I expect to brought to a good fishing spot?
I will certainly try my best.

Uh-Oh................
Another case of cabin fever.

The handicapped carp is displaying a classic case of uncookedmaizeatosis.
It probably would fight like the proverbial sack of potaoes.

The amount of replies to this "competition" is incredible. I guess too many people are not fishing at the moment, including myself...
Plus there is a prize. If there were no prize, there wouldn't be the interest.

Now that you NJ-PA guys have finally been given the opportunity to better yourselves and step up into the Mid-Atlantic slot, we oldtimers here would like to hear a little about yourselves, and what you think you might now do to pull your weight here.
CARP ON EAR PLUGS
in Pictures, Stories & Video
Posted
This tip came too late. I just bought some of the "official" plastic corn from Mr. Wacker. But definately will try the ear plugs; I always have a glove compartment full of them.
